does not let you use both hobs at same timeAnonymous reviewerI have had 3 of these now…THREEEEE. its not particularly because im a huge fan of them either its because ikea have had to send out two replacements because it occasionally likes to not let you use both hobs at the same time. I moved in july and dont have an oven so this is the backup and 7/10 it lets you use it no issue. but GUARANTEED the one time you absolutely need to use both hobs itll give a big f* you and stop working.
Ikea know this is an issue because of the responses to the hob which admittedly i shouldve read before purchase but sadly didnt. Its okay just very temperamental and i dont think they care enough to fix it idk. i wish i could get my money back but i dont even think they would at this point
Worked well at first, but failed after 10 monthsAnonymous reviewerInitially genuinely pleased with this hob. It looked nice, was easy to use, and worked well for the first several months. However, after about 10 months I started experiencing the same issue mentioned in other reviews, it would no longer run both burners at the same time. If one burner was on and I tried to turn on the second, both would shut off regardless of the heat level. Because of this fault, I’ve arranged for a return.

Pointless having two rings Anonymous reviewerI need both rings to cook!! TOGETHER! I paid more for TWO rings … absolutely pointless if you can’t use both together. And yes I tried on setting one on both.. if you put on on the other zeros.

Disappointing so do not recommendAnonymous reviewerOn 11th October we bought this double hob thinking it would be the answer to us not having a kitchen whilst renovating our home. We live about 1.5hours from our nearest Ikea so it's not so easy to take back and return having two disabled people in our house. The product worked a dream when we first had it, but soon after we noticed the hobs could not be used together meaning you could only use one hob at a time. If this was the case then we would of bought just a single one. My hubby has a brain injury so a gas hob isn't a safe option for him, whilst trying to cook non tricky meals, this seemed the ideal hob. Sadly we were wrong.

Cooking uselessAnonymous reviewerI needed the 2 x hobs that are supposed to work simultaneously (up to certain combined power levels) On odd occasions it works. Usually, attempts to run both hobs at the same time fail. Which ever second plate you activate will switch off the other one, even when setting both power levels at their lowest. I might as well as bought the single hob for half the price.

Doesn’t workAnonymous reviewerAs many others have stated, both rings don’t work simultaneously. If you have one on and turn the second one on, the first one switches off. As this is currently our only means of cooking (our oven caught fire) it’s very frustrating and a waste of money.
same issue as othersAnonymous reviewerBought this as my current hob, ceramic took ages to heat and cook food.
First test, boiled a pan of water in minutes.
2nd test, cook my dinner.
Turned the rear plate on to 2, as soon as i turned on the front llate it turned the rear plate off. Wtf!?
Swapped the pans around same issue.
Read the manual ! Clearly states 2 zones should work with a max of 2800 watts draw.
Definately an issue with the product and not pans or power.
Will have to take it back and hope they have one that works.
Problem with both hobs at same timeAnonymous reviewerSometimes they work together, but mostly they won't. Not the pans, both work independently on each area. Not the power settings even if both are set at low power levels. The instructions clearly state both can be used at the same time. On the extremely rare occasion they do work together it is very good however. Can only give it one star, we bought it for two hobs at the same time, to work like this all the time.
Impossible to use as intendedAnonymous reviewerThere might be a fault in electrical installation, but every time I tried to use two plates simultaneously, the one that was already on - switched off. Which was a shame, because I had such high hopes for it. Otherwise, it was easy to install (just plug it in) and operate (as long as you remember to switch off accidental touch lock).
