Fabulous Picture FramesVerified ReviewerI purchased the BJORSKA print over 3 years ago with the intention of displaying it as 4 separate prints. Fast forward 3 years (I like to take my time) - decorations completed, and I have framed the print; but not as in the size purchased! When I first laid eyes on the print, it had been cut down (by Ikea store staff) and alternatively displayed as 4 separate smaller prints, which I thought was a genius idea! So - I recently purchased the HOVSTA medium-brown frames (x 4) in the 50 x 70 cm frame size. I carefully measured the print and plotted where to cut and it was a breeze to do! Now I just need to hang them on the wall and admire them! The picture was displayed in the Leeds IKEA Store on 31 October 2020, and I think that I have duplicated the same effect very well! Why not give it a try yourself? I will try to upload pics shortly.5

Poor quality frameVerified ReviewerDidn't even use this frame as it was such poor quality. Not even glass inside just a plastic film. Didn't return as not worth the round trip!2
Warped badlyVerified ReviewerWarped very quickly. Do no recommend1
Poor plastic ruined my frameVerified ReviewerThe “protective” plastic came with a scratch and when I attempted to rub it with a soft sponge the whole surface scratched and is now unusable. Very poor quality indeed and a waste of money, will not be buying again.1
You've been framedVerified ReviewerIts a picture frame. It frames pictures. As you'd expect. If you like picture frames, then...4
Cheap sagging plastic front.Verified ReviewerWhy have you substituted glass for plastic? It sags, is a dust magnet and others have mentioned this too. IKEA is beginning to look cheap. You used to be known for quality at affordable prices. What happened? I now have to have glass cut and remove the plastic.2
61x91cm size is AWFULVerified ReviewerThe wood effect is nice and smaller sizes may be okay but the 61x91cm is atrocious quality, the frame is so flimsy that the edge sags down causing the plastic sheet to bow and almost fall out of the frame. Should not be allowed to be sold quite honestly, not fit for any purpose.1
Just what we neededVerified ReviewerNice frame. Easy to set my picture into it. Nice dark edge to frame it nicely.5
Excellent value and qualityVerified ReviewerGreat product, unlike the poor quality leather Landskrona sofa and chair purchased last year, which have become unshapely, as the arm padding moves around. I have not been invited to comment on the furniture, shortly after purchase, why?5
IdealVerified ReviewerExactly the size & shape that I required5

Hovsta framesVerified ReviewerI've bought several of these. Nice box frame type design, and the white wood stain effect version looks good. Excellent value5
Picture frameVerified ReviewerDid the job very well compared to £1000 from framers outside and I required 34
Cheap materialsVerified ReviewerLooks like a very consistent, expensive frame. However materials are cheap and not very good value for money.2
Plastic, not glassVerified ReviewerI am disappointed to discover that plastic has been used in place of glass. I will be returning this frame.2
Frame for a signed shirtVerified ReviewerWe visited IKEA Cardiff to specifically purchase a picture frame to display a signed cricket shirt that my sons had received during the summer. The frame allowed the shirt to be displayed very nicely.4
A good simple frame, easy to use.Verified ReviewerSmart and clean appearance, an easy way to make any picture look special. But a little expensive for what it is.4

Our take on wood

Wood is the material most commonly associated with IKEA furniture, and for good reasons. It’s renewable, recyclable, durable, ages beautifully and it is an important part of our Scandinavian design heritage. At IKEA we believe that sourced in responsible way, wood is a key change driver for climate mitigation. In 2012, we set a goal that by 2020 our wood would be from more sustainable sources. We are happy to announce that we have reached this goal and today, more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

Forests are critical for life on earth

Forests contribute to maintaining balance in the atmosphere, purify the air that we breathe and are part of the water cycle. They nourish wildlife biodiversity and provide homes for indigenous communities who depend on forests for their livelihoods. 90% of plant and animal species living on the planet need forests to survive. They provide sources of food, fuel, timber and many other ecosystem services that we rely upon. Sourcing approximately 19 million m3 of roundwood per year from some 50 countries, IKEA has a significant impact on the world’s forests and the timber industry and a huge responsibility to positively influence how wood is sourced. Responsible wood sourcing and forest management ensure that the needs of people dependent on forests are met, that businesses can work sustainably, that forest ecosystems are protected and biodiversity is enhanced.

100% wood from more sustainable sources

At IKEA, we work with strict industry standards to promote responsible forestry. We don’t allow any wood in our supply chain from forest areas that are illegal or contain high conservation values or from forest areas with social conflict. Before starting to work with IKEA, suppliers must demonstrate that they meet IKEA critical requirements on wood sourcing. IKEA requires all suppliers to source wood from more sustainable sources (FSC-certified or recycled wood). All suppliers are audited regularly and non-compliant suppliers are required to implement immediate corrective actions. By working together with our suppliers, we are proud to announce that we have reached our more sustainable sources goal, which we set out to achieve by 2020. Today more than 98% of the wood used for IKEA products is either FSC-certified or recycled.

IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030

As pressure on the world’s forests and the surrounding eco-systems increases due to unsustainable agriculture, the expansion of infrastructure and illegal logging, it is time to take an even more holistic approach to protect and support these important resources for generations to come. The IKEA Forest Positive Agenda for 2030 set out to improve forest management, enhance biodiversity, mitigate climate change and support the rights and needs of people who depend on forests across the whole supply chain and drive innovation to use wood in even smarter ways. The agenda focuses on three key areas: • Making responsible forest management the norm across the world. • Halting deforestation and reforesting degraded landscapes. • Driving innovation to use wood in smarter ways by designing all products from the very beginning to be reused, refurbished, remanufactured, and eventually recycled.

We accomplish more by working together

For many years, IKEA has partnered with businesses, governments, social groups and non-governmental organisations to fight forest degradation and deforestation and increase the volume and availability of wood from responsibly managed forests both for our own supply chain and beyond. We are on a journey to improve global forest management and make responsible wood sourcing the industry standard, contributing to building resilient forest landscapes and improve biodiversity.

Material

What is fibreboard?

Fibreboard is a stable and durable material made of leftover wood from the wood industry. A durable outer layer of paint or laminate is added to the board. The difference between various types of fibreboards, such as HDF and MDF, is mainly the thickness, yet also how impact-resistant they are. This determines if we will use them for bed frames, sofa frames, kitchen fronts, wardrobe doors, or something completely different.
