How to get it

Product details

You can choose to use either the soft-closing or push-open function. The push-opener lets you open the doors with just a light push, while the soft-closing hinges makes sure they close silently and softly.

It’s easy to keep the cables from your TV and other devices out of sight but close at hand, as there are several cable outlets at the back of the TV bench.

The cable outlet at the top lets cables run down smoothly into the TV bench.

The legs raise your BESTÅ combination from the floor, giving it a light airy look and making it easy to clean the floor underneath.

    We recommend a TV bench to be a bit wider than the TV placed on it. This TV bench suits a TV up to 45 inches. You can choose a larger TV if it’s not heavier than the specified max load for the bench’s top.

    The top panel of the TV bench is intended for a TV with a maximum weight of 16 kg.

    If you want to create a uniform look throughout the home, you can combine SELSVIKEN front with the matching FARDAL door for PAX.

Unstable and extremely cheapAnonymous reviewerThis TV bench is extremely unstable (I recommend gluing the parts together since it only comes with the cheap plastic fixing rather than metal) and the construction of the wood is the lowest grade IKEA could do. The whole thing is made out of those super cheap desks. This means all the measurements for the shelf compartments is completely off compared to the online builkder since the wood is too thick! I got an old BESTA desk and its amazing but this new BESTA stuff is easily the worst thing that IKEA sell at the moment. Plus the price for the quailiy is absoluetly shocking. If this was around the £50 mark it would be OK. Also the whole thing is extremely light in weight which isn't a good thing for a TV stand. Final note I had this delivered since I ordered a few larger items. Came damaged even though the box was fine. So all around I think avoid this item and avoid the BESTA range in general!1

Good instructions, holes and hardware in the right place for alignment and the end result is an elegant unit. I am using it in my home office for storage with my hard drives, pc, laptop and network switch taking up the shelves and the storage underneath help keep everything tidy. My only criticism would be that the gap for cables on the back panel at the bottom could be a little bigger IMO5

Material

What is constructed board?

We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
