        Poor quality, nightmare to buildAnonymous reviewerFirstly, the fact that IKEA shows reviews by colour model rather than just by overall models means I missed the poor reviews for this. I hope you are luckier! This is a nightmare to put together. The modular design means there are no overall instructions for the unit - it’s not clear what order to construct this in. That meant I put the doors on, then had to take them off in order to fit the shelves. The quality is shoddy. Plastic elements broke as I built it. The doors and drawer fronts don’t align (this will drive me nuts as I sit on the sofa and stare at it!), and the controls to adjust them don’t work. The glass top has instructions that imply the film layer should be removed. It shouldn’t. The instructions actually refer to a tiny set of pads in the box, not the glass, but given this was loose in the box there was no way to know this. In the end it took me 4hours to build and the end result looks poor. Nowhere near the quality of product or construction method I expect from IKEA.1

        What is constructed board?

        We use constructed boards when manufacturing many of our pieces of furniture, such as tables and wardrobes. They are light yet still stable and strong. Each board has a frame made of chipboard, fibreboard or solid wood, while the inside is a honeycomb filling structure made of mostly recycled paper, which is extra durable thanks to its special construction. The board is then covered with a protective paint, foil or veneer depending on the style wanted.
