IKEA Canada Recruitment Process

At IKEA we believe that each and every one has something unique to offer. That’s why we have special recruitment processes in place to help us find the right people, and help you find the right job. Whether you’re invited to attend a virtual or in-person hiring event or invited to complete an on-demand video interview in the comfort of your own home, we want to make sure that we are able to get to know each other better!

Important Update from IKEA Canada

We are committed to providing a secure recruitment and hiring process for all our candidates. It has come to our attention that fraudulent persons are using various deceiving means ranging from text messages, social media platforms and forged letters to invite unsuspecting job seekers to interviews and to offer fictional employment in an alleged recruitment exercise by IKEA. Please note, IKEA will never ask applicants to receive money, send money, or provide personal identification during the recruitment process. Successful applicants will only be asked to provide personal information relevant to employment after they have accepted, signed, and returned their employment offer through our secure Recruitment system. We ask job seekers to be wary of fraudulent invitations to job interviews received outside of the IKEA Recruitment system as anyone who entertains such invitations does so at their own risk. If you are contacted for the purpose of purported recruitment other than through an advertisement duly placed by IKEA on our careers site or approved job posting channels, do not hesitate to report such contacts to the relevant law enforcement agencies. Our Recruitment Process is comprised of a few simple steps: 

 

Step 1: Recruiter Screening
Applicants who match our hiring criteria will either:
– Be invited to attend a virtual or in-person hiring event at the location they applied to
Be invited for a phone or video call with a Recruiter, or
Be invited to complete an on-demand HireVue video interview

Step 2: Hiring Manager Interview
Applicants invited to attend a hiring event will interview with the Hiring Manager or Hiring Team, either virtually or in-person
– Applicants who were successful in the Recruiter phone or video call will interview with the Hiring Manager or Hiring Team, either virtually or in-person
Applicants who were successful in the on-demand HireVue video interview will interview with the Hiring Manager or Hiring Team, either virtually or in-person

Step 3: Offer Letter
An Offer Letter is extended to successful candidate(s), conditional upon successful background check completion, if applicable.

Step 4:   Background Checks
Background checks are initiated and completed, if applicable.

Step 5:   Pre-boarding
Employment is confirmed, and the New Hire is invited to complete their own personalized digital pre-boarding process.

Step 6: Celebrate!
Once digital pre-boarding is complete, we’ll have everything we need to greet the New Hire on their first day.
