100% committed to more sustainable cotton

The cotton we use comes from sources that aim to be more sustainable, such as recycled cotton or cotton grown with less water and fewer pesticides. We also work with partners to support better livelihoods for cotton farmers.

Leading constant change for cotton

By having teams on the ground in areas where it has previously been difficult to work responsibly, we can challenge the traditional ways of working and improve cotton production. We keep working actively to improve the cotton industry, and want more sustainable cotton to be the norm for the entire sector.

Your choice matters

We use cotton in many products. But no matter where you find it, you can rest assured that all our cotton is grown and produced responsibly. By creating a home with more sustainable cotton products, you’re contributing to a more responsible cotton industry and a better future for coming generations.

Sweeter dreams with cotton grown with care

Treat yourself to the dreamy softness of cotton that’s grown with care. JUNIMAGNOLIA bed linen is woven from pure cotton that breathes, absorbs moisture, and becomes softer with every wash. All the cotton we use comes from more sustainable sources, either being recycled or grown with care for the environment.

Since September 1, 2015, all the cotton we use for IKEA products comes from more sustainable sources.

We work to make responsibly sourced cotton mainstream

Conventional cotton farming uses large amounts of chemicals and water, which can harm farmers’ health and the environment. Together with WWF and other partners, we support programs that reduce pesticide use, improve water management, and promote cotton grown with better practices so that more sustainable cotton becomes widely used.

IKEA and WWF are working together

WWF and IKEA are working together to safeguard and manage natural resources and transform business for the benefit of people and planet. Through projects within forests, cotton, freshwater and climate, the partnership is working to protect and enhance biodiversity.
