Ratings and reviews
Extremely Disappointed – Lock Does Not Work at AllAnonymousI purchased this lockable cabinet hoping to store sensitive documents securely. Unfortunately, the locking mechanism is completely non-functional. Even when locked, the door can be easily opened just by pushing it – which completely defeats the purpose of having a lock.
I assembled the unit myself and found it sturdy in appearance, but the core functionality (the lock) is essentially broken. This is not a minor flaw — it's a critical defect, especially for a product specifically advertised as "lockable."
I ended up having to disassemble and return the product myself to get a refund, which was a huge hassle considering I had already put significant time and effort into assembling and transporting it.
IKEA really needs to improve quality control on items like this. If a product cannot perform its advertised function, it should not be sold.1
