Vaneer bubbles after light useSunnyHad the table for only a few months, gently used, and the veneer is already bubbling. Disappointed 1
Lumps form on table topAlieThis is a great extendable table except it's extremely vulnerable to water. I was really confused when lumps started appearing on the table top. Eventually, I realized they were from water briefly being on the table (drops from my toddler pouring water into cups) before they were wiped. If you have kids or may briefly get water drops on the table yourself, this is not the table for you. I've never had a table do this before. Otherwise it's an great table, it's just unfortunate it's quickly become lumpy.2
Instant discolourationAndreaI loved this table when we bought and assembled it. But after a week of having a runner on it, the table is already significantly discoloured (it doesn't get direct sunlight in the dining room either).2

Very practical table for smaller spacesGayleI live in an apartment so the space is limited. Most days I use this table as my desk. When I entertain it pulls out to seat 8 comfortably. I love the dual purpose and that the leaf hides away inside the table. The colour is a bit lighter than expected. The veneer has a bit of a plastic look to it.4
Mismatched topsTheodore JWe drove an hour each way to pick up our Tonstad table. When we opened it we discovered the two top pieces are completely different shades. Very inconvenient - someone else left this same comment. Clearly there needs to be better quality control at the packaging facility.3
The Perfect Extendable TableMichelleI've been looking for what seems like forever for the perfect extendable table in an oak finish with a self-storing leaf, so I was thrilled to see this table come into Ikea's dining table rotation. Assembly was easy and do-able for one person. A bit clunky to extend without the help of a partner, but manageable if you're on your own. The table is sturdy and has the aesthetic appearance of other 'trendy' furniture stores. My only concern is that the top has some texture, which will be interesting if / how much food and grime gets stuck in the crevices. 5
