Pathetic qualityHamnaI honestly wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this drawer. We were very disappointed with the quality when we started assembling it.
As soon as we tried to put the pieces together, the material around the pre-drilled holes and locking points started ripping and crumbling. Every time we tried to tighten a screw or connect a piece, the surface would chip, crack, and break apart. The holes/locks were essentially getting damaged just from normal assembly, and the pieces would not hold together properly.
As you can see from the photos, the damage happened during assembly and was not caused by rough handling. The material feels extremely fragile and does not seem durable enough to withstand even the basic assembly process. Unfortunately, this experience has been extremely frustrating, especially considering the price.
Very disappointed with this purchase.
MehMakenzieI bought this dresser before seeing all the negative reviews, and I would agree with the assembly process. The mechanism to lock the boards together is quite poor and hard to get right. The material is extremely cheap and cracks easy. The drawers actually do feel quite sturdy. I bought this for a nursery and it will do the trick.
Terrible Quality Of Assembly HolesDavidAt first the quality looks pretty decent but the holes to connect each panel are terrible quality. I'm reasonably handy and the holes just disintegrated making impossible to assemble. For the price, I was expecting more.
Regret purchasing JordanPoor overall value at $500. Weighs over 200 lbs making it difficult even for 2 people to move around a room. Drawers can’t be removed easily for moving. Poor quality particle board with bits breaking off at the corners. Low quality drawer sliders. Poor quality hardware with many plastic pieces. Worst part is the top rips out when you try to move it yet there is no where else to grab it.
Poor assembly, Poor qualityFlorenceI am very disappointed in this dresser. We have the matching TV stand and bedside tables which are amazing, sturdy and easy to assemble. I am not sure what happened with the dresser but jeez! The particle board was falling apart while trying to put together?!
Horrible Quality Finishing for the PriceHeatherI bought this over cheaper units because of the soft close drawers and the not too dark finish. Figured I'd be getting decent quality materials for that added cost too. However, the quality of the parts are horrible. Right out of the box, corners of the particle board are cracked off, and the veneer is barely attached to the panels. All of the drawer sides have the veneer bubbling from sliding the drawer bottoms into them. I wish I could add photos.
I scoffed at the reviews saying this was hard to assemble, but after assembling it myself, I completely agree. There are plastic knobs that slide into keyholes, and getting these to slide in fully is extremely difficult. I was never able to get the center section fully inserted despite literally jumping on it to try to get it to slide in further.
I wish I had stopped earlier in the assembly process and just returned this thing. Now that it's fully assembled it's a pain to bring back.
Misunderstood piece of furniture LinaI purchased the item before reading the low reviews and was thinking this would be a very difficult item to put together, and hearing that the drawers don’t line up perfectly was also a let-down. However, it was not the case at all. This is definitely a two-person job since the dresser is very heavy but that’s a good thing(in my opinion). The install was not difficult to decipher. Remember that when installing the drawer slides, look for the “L” for left and “R” for right at the bottom of each slide to reassure that you are installing the correct slides on the correct board. This is found on the grey part of the slides, on the bottom. Now, when we completed everything and installed the drawers, they did not line up. Bad? No, actually it wasn’t because on each side of the drawer slides, there is a small washer-like mechanism that you can adjust yourself. You can raise it or drop it by tuning the washer. This will balance out the drawers and they will all match up. This is the last step
Impossible to assemble NicoleLove the look of this dresser and got the matching side tables, however I truly cannot get the top into the side and middle pieces. I’ve never struggled to assemble an ikea furniture item before and am so disappointed. Paid for delivery and am either going to have to return everything including the matching side tables or pay more $ to have “expert assembly”. I just wasted over an hour of my life so frustrated trying over and over again to fit the side and middle pieces into the corresponding 8 holes with no success. Not impressed.
Overpriced for quality MeghanSturdy and the brown stained oak veneer looks nice. Assembly requires two people and wasn’t the easiest. Drawers don’t line up as nicely as in the stock photo even though we followed the instructions carefully. Soft close is a nice touch but the dresser is still expensive considering it’s made from particalboard.
