Aesthetic but not completely functional BohdanThis product looks and feels very nice. The issue that functionality is subpar, it's not very clear if the product has to be expanded in a specific way. The feet are uneven which results it struggling to stay expanded all the way. Whether it's part of the design, defective or something else is not very clear.
UnstableEmilyDisappointed to find that this divider can't stay unfolded unless it's on thick carpet. The feet are uneven, meaning that some of them float above the ground and don't provide the traction to keep the thing open. I think the rattan weaving also creates some tension on the hinges, causing it to fold inward. This product really should be more adjustable or come with felt feet to compensate for the uneven legs.
At least it looks nice, I guess.
Obviously not for privacyBibianaLaughing out loud here with the reviews talking about how the product is see-trough and doesn't offer any privacy. That's obvious in the photos, so don't blame your poor judgement on the product. It's super cute and works well to create a visual separation in the room.

When we developed TOLKNING, we worked with experienced artisans. The result is a decorative and multi-functional series of natural fibre products that carry warmth, a unique expression and lots of character.
Simi Gauba and Kristin Pfannenschmidt are two of our product developers who are based in Vietnam and work a lot with natural fibres. “When we created TOLKNING, we got help from skilled artisans who know the strengths and weaknesses of the material,” says Simi. “Without them, we wouldn’t be able to offer these products to our customers.”

Simi says that working with natural fibres can be challenging, but that is also a part of the charm. “The TOLKNING series reflects a heritage that is worth preserving – man and nature together and skills passed on from generation to generation. I think that’s one of the reasons why these kinds of products are so loved. They have a soul and warmth that many people like – perfect if you want to add genuine materials and natural beauty to your home.”

What is rattan?
Rattan is a climbing plant belonging to the palm tree family. It grows as a vine on tree trunks, its fast-growing tendrils easily reaching 60, and sometimes more than 300, feet long. They can be harvested without harming the host trees and grow back quickly once harvested. We use this lightweight, flexible and durable material in products like armchairs, rocking chairs, side tables, outdoor furniture and for handmade baskets.

I started with my Scandinavian heritage and, in combination with the knowhow and professional skills of craftspeople, the unique products took shape – made by people and for people.
