Not as good as it used to beScarletI am not sure what happened but it seems the top lamp's cap is meant to come off. I still have an old one too and it seems to have an additional clamp on the inside that secures the white part with the black bar. With this current one, the white top part is just sitting on the black without anything to secure it. Recently with the move, I almost lost the cap because it came off. I hope IKEA can return to what it used to be. Make it so it's secure. Thank you
Same great quality as one I bought years ago KatelynThis lab is priced so well for all that it does and how well it holds up. I bought this particular one for a friend as I have the exact same one and it is held up for over 15 years. It’s convenient to have the two different strengths of light. I really like having the smaller wine and being able to move it around so if you want to sit and perhaps read a book, it doesn’t need to be super bright. The bulbs last very long time and it’s also easy to to keep clean with just a damp cloth and dusting it.
Missing partsAndreBought at calgary branch and when we got home some parts are missing. Now I have to go all the way back wasting gas
Not good as it used to beAnirudhThis was a good lamp, not anymore.. missing screws make it unstable and this is a problem across the lineup and not just a single unit. They still sell it as is.
All good except for the reading lampYatesThe overall build quality is terrific considering the low price. This only thing I would change is to go back to the previous style reading lamp that uses an E14 base bulb. The current style uses an E12 base bulb but nobody makes a reflector bulb with E12 base. With a 400 lm bulb, it's too dark to read but with an 800lm bulb, there's too much side glare. The old style uses an E14 reflector bulb (still for sale at IKEA) that is perfect for reading and doesn't create side glare.

Fire hazardAlexanderI bought this light and I’ve used it every day but this week I noticed that the lamp that you can point well the casing is made out of plastic and it’s all started to melt. It’s good for the price and if you never point that lamp down, you probably won’t have a problem but if you do, you probably will.

All 3 products I bought on my order are if horrible quality, including this one. I would suggest you pay a bit more for a higher quality item..

reminder that this light takes two DIFFERENT bulbs that aren’t included.
when putting it together, two screws come already assembled in one of the tubes. you have to unscrew them in order to connect another tube, and then screw those two together. it was a NIGHTMARE unscrewing one of the screws… it took me probably a half an hour to get it out of the tube. i wish they would’ve just had the two screws come in a bag rather than already screwed in, especially since you have to take them out anyway.

Defective screwMahdiOne of the screws is so tight that it won’t come out, and I haven’t been able to loosen it in any way. Can't assemble the parts because the screw is stuck in the middle!!
