Recurring durability issuesAbdullahI’ve purchased these twice because I initially liked the comfort, but both times the same issue appeared after a few years of normal daily use. In each case, the support beneath the seat changed significantly. One chair developed a clear loss of support in the sitting area, which seemed related to the internal frame no longer holding its shape. The other developed uneven support where the springs under the cushion no longer functioned properly.
What concerns me is that these weren’t surface-level “wear and tear” problems; the changes felt structural. Both times I submitted a warranty claim, it was categorized as “general wear” and not covered. The warranty experience was very disappointing. From what I’ve seen, this is not a chair built for long-term daily use, and it may only hold up reliably for very light individuals or occasional seating.

fabric is very lint absorbantShirinpossibly the worst thing I have ever bought, it's beautiful and comfy for sure, but the maintenance of keeping it look good is overkill, I bought this for my nursery and thought I'll bring it down after my baby is older and use it in the living room and it was the worst decision I have ever made, I can just throw it out in the garbage, thats how bad the fabric quality is, it absorbs lint from air ! even if I'm not wearing anything "linty" or even if no one has sat on it it still linty. go with another fabric and pay less and not this green fancy one because it's really bad.
Perfect!CarrieWe bought 2 kelinge beige chairs and they are so comfortable for me (5’2) but also for my 6’1 husband. They were easy to build and are very sturdy, have been used daily by my kids and slid around on our wooden floors (turned around to face the tv then back to face the couch at night) but they’re still solid and sturdy. I have 2 cats and a dog so there’s a lot of fur but it does not cling to the kelinge fabric at all. The colour is a beautiful taupe beige. I just love them and also the fabric. My son bought the chair & stool in grey but the fabric is not as soft and cozy.

Amazing chairs! Great value!BrianaIt has now been one whole year of loving our big yellow armchairs. We opted to purchase matching stools for them and could not be happier! The assembly was pretty simple and fast. Also they come in boxes which was super for us: we got two armchairs and two stools in the back of my jeep wrangler… along with whatever else we threw in the cart that day.
Got pets? they do catch a lot of pet hair but they hold up to the abuse from those same pets pretty well so it’s a trade off. For reference we have two cats, a 75lb standard poodle and a 70lb shar pei, plus a bite size chihuahua. The chi and cat hair stick to them like crazy.
Durable: Our doggos flip tables (not actually) when someone walks by and these chairs are the throughway to the window. We expected they would destroy them given the low price point and are happily shocked at how well made they have turned out to be!
With limited space in our home these were the perfect solution. Now to find a suitable sofa to compliment them!

Nice looking chair, poor fitting parts, assembly was terrible.MarkThe bolt holes/attachment points that attach the side arms did align, resulting in difficulty assembling, non-symmetrical seams, and a few unsightly gaps. The buttons are also attached poorly (they are not stitched, just held on by elasticized strong), so two of them hang out slightly, making it look a bit shoddy. Overall it’s quite comfortable, and it looks decent in low light or at a passing glance; but for an experienced woodworker, assembly was extremely frustrating, and because I know it’s there, I see the parts where the chair doesn’t align properly; makes it look a bit like a cheap Walmart purchase. I could send back, but being 400 km from the nearest store makes that a pain. At some point I may redrill the holes for a better fit - but that shouldn’t be necessary for a product at this price point. This is the second IKEA purchase within a month with poorly aligned pieces.

Nice but some concernsPamHave had the chair for about 2 weeks. Like it but the buttons are already starting to pull and fall off. I just wish they weren’t there. They looked nice at first but now look sloppy. Will have to either put a blanket over the buttons or figure out a way to sew them back on- it’s too new to already look old.

bleeding dyeTracyi waited over a year for this chair to be back in stock and i love it, for the look, and the comfort, but every time you brush by it, the black dye smudges, if you rest your arms on the rests, they smudge. it's such a massive disappointment! the chair (and the footstool that i bought a few months after the chair, it took longer to be back in stock) look filthy! we've barely used them due to the dye transfer to our clothes. basically our cat uses it, that's it.

Love this chairBevThis is the second time I bought this chair. Bought it, returned it, and two years later rebought this chair. I love how comfortable it is. The high back and seat fits my frame perfectly. Most everyday, I comment on how comfortable this is. I do have the footstool to match and it feels like a recliner when I put my feet up.

From vintage sitting to modern life
Do you sometimes get a little nostalgic? We do. That’s why we created STRANDMON wing chair. Its design is inspired by an IKEA chair from the 50’s called MK – a favorite of the IKEA founder, Ingvar Kamprad. It was even on the cover of our first catalogue. But how could it be refreshed and adapted to today’s demands? Well, we found a few ways…
Like the quality. Back in the 50’s, most people used chairs just to sit in. Nowadays, we curl up in our chairs, drape our legs over armrests and eat where we sit. We put higher demands on our furniture. Our product developer Ulf Engström explains what STRANDMON has to put up with. “It’s tested to make sure it can take a person that sits and gets up at least 50,000 times. That’s the same as sitting and getting up once a day for 136 years.”

The wing chair perhaps had its golden era long ago, but who knows, it might be considered a must-have in people's homes once again. “People have changed the way they live since the 50's, but the need for affordable quality furniture is still the same. I think that is one of the reasons to why STRANDMON is so popular,” says Ulf. The flat pack and the lower price, together with new colors and patterns, will definitely make it easier for more people to find the right spot for STRANDMON in their home. And – of course – experience some well-deserved comfort.
