good for the priceJoseeI was looking for stool but didn't have the budget to get really good comfortable ones. If you are using them for a meal, they work great. But if you plan on working at the counter for long period, they get uncomfortable.

Practical and FunctionalTarirecently purchased the IKEA STIG bar stools for my kitchen counter, and overall, I’m pleased with them. I really like the height—they’re perfect for a standard kitchen counter and feel just right when sitting down for a quick meal.
The assembly was relatively easy, and the instructions were clear enough that I was able to put the stools together without any issues.
In terms of comfort, I’d say they’re average. I haven’t sat on them for longer than about 30 minutes at a time since I mainly use them while eating, so they work well for short periods but may not be ideal for extended sitting.
For the price and practicality, they’re a great option if you’re looking for simple, functional seating.
"Affordable but Unstable and Uncomfortable"HelenThe STIG stool is affordable, which is a plus, but overall, I'm not very satisfied with it. After assembling it, the stool doesn’t feel sturdy or safe to sit on. It wobbles and lacks proper support. Also, the seat is quite hard and uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time.
In addition, the assembly process requires a lot of tools and effort. It would be much more user-friendly if IKEA could simplify the installation process or include all the necessary tools in the package.
I hope IKEA can improve both the stability, comfort, and ease of assembly in future versions. Thank you.

SturdyAnonymousThe materials used were sturdy. All parts came in the package were complete. I bought 2 chairs. Assembling was not really difficult. Took me 15-20 mins. assembling each chair. For an item that's cheap, really good quality.

Not greatMaggieBottom of the barrel quality. The fitment is both tension fit and mechanical but the two approaches aren't aligned, so it's one then the other during assembly. They advise you to loosely assemble, then tension fit, then torque. The soft metal bends dramatically - I assume by design, so it all fits - but the hardware is single use, so if you fit it snug and have to loosen later, you'll strip it easily even with proper metric hex bits, probably because of low grade metal and poor machinining tolerances. Once you do get this thing assembled, it's a narrow plastic seat, so it's just generally uncomfortable. If you're small, or a student, probably a good use of $20. If you are trying to have actual stools in your home, I'd look elsewhere, skip these entirely. Terrible quality, terrible fitment, and if you look at it for more than a second, it's pretty clear that it's trash. Disappointed I spent the money on these at all.

Choose the right height of your bar stool so that it is comfy to sit on, offers plenty of leg room and is proportionate with the rest of your space. Kitchen counters and counter-height tables typically range from 87-91 cm from the floor. To find the perfect stool for your counter, look for a seat height of 60-66 cm.
