it's a coaster - and does exactly thatSteveUntil you have to get new coasters, you don't realize how hard they are to find in a size large enough to hold a big glass. These fit the need perfectly, and have the added bonus - they are flat and cannot be picked up by a dog. Afterall the reason I needed new coasters is that my dog ate my old ones.
