The doors have soft-closing hinges which make them close softly and quietly.

DangerousDeannaI bought smastad wardrobe in June, put it together in August and it is now swaying back and forth (it’s the start of October). It is not study at all. It is very dangerous for a toddlers room especially advertising for kids. Customer service rep told me there’s nothing they can do and there’s no support then left the chat when I asked for the situation to be escalated to a manager.
Pleasantly Surprised AnnieI thought hard before purchasing this item based on the reviews, but I'm so glad I took the risk! We purchased the version with 3 equal sized drawers which may have simplified matters, but overall we thought the product went together quite easily. Looks great, lots of storage. Doesn't take up too much room, great option for a nursery. Time will tell how it holds up but so far very pleasantly surprised!
Not functional!AliI assembled a new set which was delivered by Ikea home delivery service. It appears the long side boards are bowed. The two top drawers fall of the rails since there is a gap between the rails on the side board and the drawers. The shelf also has the same problem. I had to run two steel wires between the side boards to bring them close enough to let the drawers and the shelf to be secured by the side boards. I am looking forward to hearing from Him Ikea how to fix this issue.
