To save on our natural resources and make use of as much of the tree as possible, we’ve used sawmill leftovers and scrap wood in the particle boards for SMÅSTAD.

Buyer's Remorse - Built To Fail & Difficult To MoveBenoitI immediately regretted buying this. Needed toy storage and was going to find a trunk chest with a lid but stumbled on this. Seemed like a clever idea that would offer versatility in the future when eventually not needing toy storage. Loved that it could be used elsewhere in the home as a bench.
The castors on the drawer are small and very difficult to move along even low pile carpet. This will only move well on hardwood or tiled floors. Also, the description should make it clear that this can only accommodate the weight of stuffed toys and that with ANY kind of slightly heavier toys it does not move well at all. This is worse due to the design of the drawer, the front panel will eventually fall apart from pulling it open. I try to pull from the very bottom will both hands in the hope that it lasts slightly longer. Glad I didn't buy the suggested handles because it would definitely break sooner from the leverage. Absolutely do not recommend and will shop elsewhere going forward.

Des pièces qui cassent dès l’assemblageHortenseLes boitiers excentriques (goujons) désormais en plastique (référence 119030) sont très fragiles. Ils servent à rapprocher et maintenir deux plaques perpendiculaires entre elles. J’en ai cassé deux sur un seul tiroir, alors que j’avais seulement 2 mm de jour entre les deux panneaux/plaques. Le métal est obligatoire pour ce type de pièce qui subit des contraintes de force lors du serrage.
Broke easilyPaulineIt looked super nice as a toy storage + seating option for our girls bedroom. However the drawer door keeps breaking down and falling off, because the drawer is heavy (it’s not even full). We’ll try to work how a way to make it sturdier, but be advised it does not work out well as a toy storage. Maybe a plushie storage.

Easy to setupTonyPurchased this item as a toy chest. Was able to install it myself. The installation took at 45 min.
My only critique about this item is the handles are not included. Also did not like how you have to drill holes into the product to put the handles in. It is simple to do but really think they should be have a model with the wholes pre drilled with covers if you do not want to use them. You can drill the holes yourself with a drill. Didn't use a wood grip. Instead just put the drawer on top of the base and used it as a wood bench to drill the hole.
Great toy storageSusanWe have 4 of these. 2 for toy storage with cushion to make them into a window bench. And 2 that I use to tuck away kids’ hockey bags. They are the perfect size.
2 annoyances with the handles - they changed the handle design recently so my bins don’t all match and the new handles need to the purchased separately and you need to get them in the kids area. So by the time you are down in the warehouse area of the store, if you don’t have the handle you have to go all the way back into the store.
