Product quality has changed KateWe’re an IKEA bedding household! My family has used their bedding for many years because it’s always been affordable, comfortable, and great quality. I recently purchased this duvet twice while redoing our kids’ bedrooms. The one we received in August was perfect soft, cozy, and warm but the one that just arrived is completely different. As another reviewer mentioned, the newer version feels almost plastic-like and even makes a crinkling sound. When comparing the two, the August duvet is noticeably thicker and warmer than the latest one. It’s really disappointing to see IKEA following the trend of many other companies by lowering product quality while keeping prices the same. I understand that I can return it, but since we don’t live near an IKEA, I already paid for shipping and we genuinely need the bedding. Such a letdown please do better, IKEA!1
Plastic duvet !AnonymousI got this duvet on February and it was so comfy that decided to get one for my son too BUT they changed the lining to plastic fabric that it doesn’t feel like blanket anymore! Even it makes sound like plastic bag when you move underneath, so annoying. Why cotton linings should be replaced by recycled plastic!!!!1
Toasty warm but stitching comes undone. VictoriaNot sure why it took me so long to post a review but we bought this last April and while it’s very cozy and warm, the stitching started to come out within a few months. I still use it but it’s definitely a safety hazard if you have this happen to you and then allow dogs or young kids in your bed. It can easily create a strong loop that could get wrapped around their neck. 3

How to care for your polyester duvet

With a little care, you can prolong the life of your polyester duvet and keep it feeling and looking fresh. Use a mild detergent and set your washer on delicate cycle at 60°C – a temperature that eliminates dust mites. Avoid using bleach and fabric softeners. Polyester duvets can be either air-dried or tumble-dried according to the care instructions. In between washes, air your duvet regularly, if possible, in direct sunlight.
