Nice lampshade but doesn’t fitShelleyI ordered this shade for an existing lamp with E26 bulb. The shade took a few minutes to put together but material is nice & it was the perfect size I was looking for; however, the ring will not fit over the lamp base. It has a piece to use with a smaller bulb or the E26, but that’s not the problem. The problem is it will not fit onto my lamp. I tried on two lamps that are not IKEA (which one is what I was buying it for) and neither fit. I have several IKEA lamps & tried on one of them and it fits. I really wish I had known the lampshade would not work on any other lamps as I would not have purchased it. I do not live close to IKEA to easily return a $10 lampshade. I’m usually highly impressed with everything I purchase and also with the customer service, so this was disappointing. I still love IKEA, but likely need to find some kind of adapter to make this work.

Better than expectedJulieThe packaging was new, it came in a flat box and I was a bit skeptical, but it was pretty easy to assemble. A wee bit tricky the first time putting the shade onto the frame, but it worked and looks great.
The right sizeVincentThere are three sizes of this shade. This allowed me to pick the right size for the room and furniture the lamps were used with.

Nice idea that does not deliverAnonymousI miss the good old Ikea lampshades, they used to look nice and be well made. During my last visit all I could find was these very basic flat-pack lampshades. The display looked okay enough. What I got once assembled (and yes, the assembly is pretty fiddly) looks pretty shabby with odd dents in the thin body of the shade and not enough structure so that it looks almost see-through when lit. It just looks cheap and sad.

Not universal sizing.KatrinaNot the easiest thing from ikea to assemble but definitely doable. Not a universal lamp shade - with the extra sizing ring it’s too small for our old floor lamp we are trying to repurpose, but without the sizing ring it’s way too big. Would be great if ikea could offer different sizes for the sizing ring to make this user-friendly and universal. Otherwise the product itself is really nice.
