Sweet dreamsPennyBought this for my granddaughter. She loves it!5
Cute but missing featuresRiverI love the pattern of this duvet set, so adorable and in my favourite colour. The fabric feels what I expected it to feel like being a cotton/rayon blend- I sleep with a top sheet so the roughness of it isn’t an issue for me. What is a bit of an issue is that it doesn’t come with any type of closing mechanism for the opening of the duvet cover. This means that the duvet will slip out of it unless you fix it yourself. I’m having to hand sew ribbon onto it to create ties which is taking a while lol. I’m also going to be hand sewing ties into the corners and sides inside of the cover to hold my duvet in place. Overall this duvet is cute, but I am glad I got it on sale.3

SKOGSDUVA Duvet cover and pillowcase, white green/forest pattern, Twin

Step into the enchanted forest

Deep in the silent forest, there’s a secret life going on. The hedgehog family lives in a tree stump, and they invite the owl, rabbit and other friends for tea. Outside, the moon shines and between the trees, you can suddenly see a green shimmering aurora light up the sky.

”SKOGSDUVA is a collection that brings us to the magical forest, which is a big part of our Scandinavian roots here at IKEA,” says Anna Edlundh, product developer. “The forest might seem quiet and empty, but if you look a little closer, it’s full of life with lots of exciting animals and plants — even during the cold winter.”

A world to fantasize about

In the collection of bed textiles, toys and accessories, we meet animals typical of Scandinavia. In addition to the hedgehog family and their friends, there is the white arctic fox, the otter, the lynx, and many more. “Designer Malin Gyllensvaan has created a wonderful world with exciting details in her illustrations: a mouse sleeping in a hammock, another is dressed up with a bow tie. They all live rather human lives, and I hope they inspire both children and their adults to come up with their own bedtime stories.” The soft toys make the characters step out of the stories and become a part of the play. “We know that children like realistic soft toys, so we have put a lot of effort into finding the right facial expressions and emotions.

Soft like moss

One of Anna’s personal favourites is the green rug. “It’s soft and nice, like moss in the forest, and perfect to play on. The cushions in the collection become like soft flowers and mushrooms that pop out of the rug.” Anna hopes the collection can contribute to the interest and understanding of the forest. “The forest is after all the home of animals and plants, and that’s why it’s so important that we help preserve it.“

Material

Soft cotton meets shimmering viscose

Cotton/viscose duvet covers offer a harmonious balance between comfort and durability. The soft cotton is a natural fibre that breathes and absorbs moisture, while viscose, made from wood pulp, is silky-smooth, dries quickly and has a nice lustre. Together they create a durable and easy-care duvet cover that regulates body temperature naturally and keeps your child comfortably dry and cool all night long. Made for sweet dreams.

Designer thoughts

Designer thoughts

"The SKOGSDUVA collection is inspired by my childhood when I was outdoors a lot and created imaginary worlds where different animals lived. I want children to explore nature beyond the front door and feel like they can make these animals come alive in their rooms too. I think children like the idea of animals living a human-like life with complex relationships, clothes and small furnished houses."
