Needs redesigning and clarity DarianIssue 1: holes in rail are too big and too far apart. They are far apart enough to miss multiple studs, therefore making it impossible to have the recommended 12inch spacing. The key system used to hold screws in place is tedious and a hassle. If holes were smaller and close together you would never miss a stud and never need to use the keys to hold the screw. Issue 2: most house studs are 16inches apart. Therefore the recommended 12 inches between screws is almost impossible. You would have to remodel your kitchen from bare bones to account for the 12 inches apart between spacing or rip open walls to add ledger boards. Issue 3: lack of available knowledge from both instructions and store employees on how these rails are hung. Not only did this delay us installing our cabinets, but it caused us to rip open our walls in various sections to add ledger boards and extra studs to ensure support. Immediate redesign necessary, and employees should note to customers how rails need to be hung!

Rail installationLaurenceThe Section rail for hanging cabinets is great system for mounting wall cabinets and provides a very safe installation as the cabinets using the metal bracket hang into place like a French cleat.
There are a few things to note for DIY.
1) Walls are often not straight and may have bends in them. Check before hand with a long level.
2) Ceiling are often not straight and may tilt or have bends in them. Check for this ahead of time.
3) the IKEA instruction for rail height is a bit ambiguous in the instructions if you are looking for a specific height to the top of the cabinet. The recommendation would be to mock up the rail and cabinets to find the "offsets" and then mark the location on the walls.
4) The mounting points in the instructions are not clear versus the wall/studs behind. Recommendation would be to use the typical 16 inch on centre for walls or mount a specific wood backer board if a lot of weight is intended.
Overall, good system.

Also would have preferred this came in an 8' length as uppers measure 96" and lowers were 72" this meant having to cut two rails to weird lengths just to get the required lengths and as such with 24' stud placements and the hole issue mentioned above this meant many studs missed. I hope they will stay up

Used to be easier to secure to studsJThe whole point of this rail is to secure cupboard boxes to the walls. That necessitates attaching to the studs. The spacing of these holes is much less flexible than the previous version of this bar. Everything is up and I hope it all stays there.

A kitchen that took us around the world
Whatever your dream kitchen is, it’s probably different from many other people’s dreams. This we learned when researching kitchen desires around the globe. Our conclusion for the SEKTION kitchen system: it should make it possible to design the best kitchen for you – whatever your preferences and living situation.
Our ambition is to help as many as possible to have a kitchen they'd love to be in. We started sketching. “When we created SEKTION, it was our biggest ever kitchen change, so it's fair to say we were very keen to get it right,” says technician Klas-Ola Nilsson.
