Great ValueAnonymous reviewerVery solid with another company's industry leading drawers and hinges. The 20 year warranty is probably the highest of any kitchen cabinet company. Great value.
Shimming the upper and lower rails (on wavy walls) so that they're level and co-planar and setting the rails on adjacent walls at 90 degrees to the first is very time consuming and requires a 3D laser level. Being exact at this first stage will ensure the cabinets hang perfectly. They won't rack or twist when fastening them together. IKEA should provide better guidance for fastening the rails between studs and should also sell suitable toggle bolts for that purpose.
Assembly of each cabinet and drawer is easy enough but takes more time.
The plastic toe kicks are cheap looking.--so "I did my own thing". The plastic lazy susans are also flimsy. I installed a much more robust (and expensive) corner shelving system.
The pre-cut end panels aren't wide enough to hide the rails and nearly 1/2 inch shims (in some places). I had to cut my own from larger panels.
It's a well thought out system but if one has to pay a contractor to assemble the cabs, it may not be economical.
I would definitely install IKEA Sektion cabinets again.
Cabinet itself a great.KarinI just wish I had hootenanny all drawers for the lower part of the kitchen. Will probably trade this cabinet out for drawers.
The paper instruction booklet toCatrionaThe paper instruction booklet to put item together has a weird cartoon thing talking on the phone if issue arises yet no phone number on booklet? Had to google most instructions or spend hours looking at picture to figure out minute differences. If not put together correctly, your basically screwed a crap board it’s made of will disintegrate.
