Sweet and savory

Marinated salmon has a long history in Sweden. As early as the 1600´s, salmon was put in a hole in the ground and then covered, slowly fermenting for a very typical taste. Nowadays, however, it is marinated in a salt, sugar and dill solution for a couple of days. It is often eaten with SÅS SENAP & DILL (sauce for salmon), a sweet and savory mustard sauce. SÅS SENAP & DILL can also be served with other dishes such as crab, shrimp, marinated meat, ham, or as a salad dressing.
