Good to know

Even though laminate is a durable material you should never place hot pots or pans directly on the countertop without a trivet or pot stand.

Not suitable for use in damp rooms.

Not suitable for outdoor use.

Care

Wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened with water and a mild dish detergent or soap, if necessary.

Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Do not place a toaster, coffee maker, kettle or other kitchen appliances that emit heat directly over a seam between two countertops because the heat can damage the seam.

Always use a chopping board, never cut directly on the countertop with a knife. Never pull an object with rough or ragged edges across the countertop as it can scratch the surface.

To prevent permanent stains on the countertop, wipe clean spills or messes immediately with a soft cloth dampened in water and a mild washing-up detergent or soap.

Safety and compliance

Supporting legs are required when an overhang exceeds 10". The maximum distance between these legs should not be more than 32".

looks great, but if getting it shipped, think twice.DonnaThis is a heavy countertop. Ikea packages pretty good. But something so heavy and large is probably going to get damaged by tie strapps. It made no sense to pay the price and return the damage counter top. We put the front curved edge to the back and the back square edge to the front to hid the damage. If you can pick it up yourself. Great counter top. If you need to ship it. Think twice.4

1 laminate edgeJoelI was pretty disappointed when I received the countertop that it only had one edge. It was for cabinets on both sides of a stove. I realize this isn't a normal layout for a countertop but I did go over the design with a planner. Now I have to drive 2 hours there and back or pay $250 to pick up a little piece of matching laminate edging. I am hoping to get an edge that matches somewhere else.3
