Doesn't fit and missing partsZhenmingWe bought this without seeing the product physically in the store. It is plastic, as stated, and in my subjective opinion doesn't look as nice as in the pictures with real lighting. Halfway through the installation, we found that one of the corners at the top doesn't fit. Pushing it hard to try to squeeze it in resulted in the plastic cracking and bits broke off. It is at the top, so we decided to ignore it and continue. Then, we encountered a step that requires screws. But there's a problem, there are no screws in the box (only 2 plastic ones). At this point, we gave up. We are going to return this product.1
Parts do not fit CynthiaThe back part does not fit into the cabinet and it is very frustrating. There are a lot of pieces as many have mentioned. So beware. This might be the most frustrating assembly I've come across for Ikea. 2
Not the bestHudsonThe cabinet does look good, but there are some key instructions missing in the instruction, manual for certain parts, plus there were a lot of gaps and screw holes that did not align whatsoever. For example, the handles of the unit once following the instructions on how to install it completely looked crooked. And there was no way of redoing the alignment without drilling your own holes. The installment process took about two hours, so whoever had posted a review for this saying that it took her and her husband a couple minutes must have been the flash. Oh, and FYI, you will need your own screws if you were planning on attaching this to a wall which is recommended by IKEA.3
Well designed, lots of piecesTedWell designed cabinet at a great price! An unbelievable amount of pieces. Each shelf has 8 pieces, each handle has 11 ! Totally worth the time it takes to assemble it though. Wish the backing was more than a corrugated plastic sheet, as the rest of the cabinet is really sturdy and well made. FYI, First tall Ikea cabinet I've seen without a wall anchor, so be super careful if you put heavy stuff up top !!! 5
