Great Display CabinetCherylWent together relatively easily. It looks really great and has tall enough shelves that I can display my collection of plates.5
Display cabinet RudstaDIANEIt is a perfect size to display your large nicknacks or to use as a green house for plants. Make sure you buy lamps too. The metal back is perfect to display pictures with magnets. It looks more classy than the Fabrikor cabinet.5
Excellent display cabinetBrianThe RUDSTA is a fantastic piece, from industrial design to the practical finished cabinet. I was a little concern about getting something with so much glass by shipping truck, but all components are very well packed and arrived in perfect condition. Assembly is quite strait forward: you just need to look at the instructions with care! I think many of the concerns about assembly are from people who are working too fast and/or not paying attention to the details of the instructions. I do suggest leaving the screws for the back plates slightly loose until you have done an initial leveling using the feet, then do a final tightening. The cabinet is quite sturdy and I really like that the top is fully supported by the frame (there is no weight carried by the glass panels). The only real flaw in the design is there are notably large gaps around the doors and sides which will let dust in (weather stripping may be a solution, but that is an extra cost and is ideally done during initial assembly). It would also be nice to have a lighting option which is a direct fit for this cabinet. A couple of MITTLED pucks will not be enough. A pair of 24" MITTLED strips might work, but will require strong two-sided tape, will be costly if paired with the TRADFRI driver/dimmer, and at 2700k is too warm anyway (something closer to 5400k would be better for showing the true color of items on display). On the whole though highly recommended as a display case.5
3 hours to assemble! TheMONICA3 hours to assemble! The manual did not show details as needed, regarding the frame. letters or numbers on the frames parts or written instructions would be helpful:)4
Exactly what I was lookingChristineExactly what I was looking for.5
Door handle alignment and unclear installation instructionNEWTONOverall, the cabinet looks great and sturdy. The price is relatively reasonable, compared to the other display product. It is a very nice display cabinet with glasses on the sides. I believe that an added-on light will make it even better. There are two minor issues: 1. Most of the installation instruction is simple, except the first two steps. It is very hard to find out which part (horizontal bar) that it is refer to. I have made a couple of mistakes that I have re-done it again. It will be great if there is any indicator marked in the part directly. 2. The door handle cannot be aligned (it is about 0.5 cm different). It is a built-in one. No way to adjust it. I understand that I can return and exchange it. But it is too troublesome to dissemble it and bring it back (as I don't have a big VAN). It seems that it is a common issue too (based on some other reviews). It is still a great display cabinet if you can accept the minor alignment issue.3
Love itElisanneI use it for a home bar! I put my pretty glass and my alcohol bottle in it. Wish there is more model in this collection. Like a tv one.5
Beautiful unitsMistiWe bought 2 of these to put our special pet memorial urns and they were perfect- They were easy to assemble5
Screw issues, specifically the two screws for the glass doors.StephenI ordered two of these cabinets, the first one assembled easy but the second and third one were a nightmare when using the two screws to hold the glass doors. When we (a friend and me) assembled the 1st one, things went great. But when finishing the assembly on the second one, the screws met with resistance when screwing them in, one actually got stuck and the screws are made of very soft metal and as we tried to either screw it in further or tried to unscrew it, the allen key stripped away the hole where it was used to screw in the screw. We tried everything to unscrew it, but the more we tried, the more the allen key insert became round and had nothing to bite on. The only way to get it out of there was to use a metal drill bit to drill it out of it's designated hole and during the process, the drill bit made the original hole bigger and ate the threads where using another same screw would not bite or screw in (no more threads). I reported this to your support department and instead of sending me just new screws and the bar number 4 (which was damaged), they sent me a brand new unit free of charge. So, I gave the incomplete damaged #2 cabinet to a non profit furniture store that takes in furniture and sells them at very low prices for people not able to afford new or used furniture at their regular price. I had to wait a few days for my friend to come help me to assemble the third cabinet you sent me and again, we faced the same issue. The screws got stuck and in drilling them out, the bar 4 was again damaged, So, I called support again and asked only for the bar number 4 and 4 screws (two spare ones in case the first 2 would not go in). I specifically asked to not be sent another free of charge cabinet for two reasons, one, I live in a 1 1/2 apartment and have no space for 3 cabinets and second, I didn't want to assemble another unit only to face the same issues with the screws yet again. So, I asked just for the horizontal bar number 4 and 4 specific screws that had been the cause of the problems on cabinet 2 and 3. The issues is your screws, they are made of such soft metal that it does not take much to strip them and they do not fit well into their designated holes. Those screws made assembling this cabinet a nightmare. Everything goes well up to that point. Those two screws need to be harder, stronger and not the soft metal they are made of now. Other than that, this piece is good when finally fully assemble, which I only have the first one fully assembled and now waiting for the spare parts to finish cabinet number 3. As for cabinet number two, I don't know if they figured out a way to finish the assembly with screws available to them and finished the assembly of the cabinet I gave them. Now, I'm just waiting for the two sets of screws and bar number 4 to finish the assembly of the 3rd cabinet which you sent me to replace the damaged cabinet number 2. But faced the same issues with cabinet 3 as I did with cabinet number 2. So, I won't know how cabinet number 3 will end up until I get the spare parts to finish it's assembly. So, stay tune and ask me again in two weeks. I just rated your product with your "stars" system, and when assembled right, it's good value for the money. The product quality is good except for these two soft screws. The cabinet number 1 which is fully assembled has a great appearance. The ease of assembly is a nightmare when using the two screws mentioned above. Rating if the product works as expected, unit 1 works as expected, but not cabinet number 2 and cabinet number 3 which is not yet fully assembled and I am waiting for the parts to finish it. So, my ratings are based on those facts. If cabinet number 2 and 3 were assembled with the same ease as cabinet number 1, this would be a great product and I would have rated it higher on all questions. But as it stands with the trouble met when assembling cabinet 2 and 3, I cannot rate this product higher.3
Amazing piece of furnitureMICHALA true gem - looks beautiful in our house5
Pretty decentJAMESOverall great product. Would like to have more adjustment options for the shelves. Instructional drawings could be a little clearer, had to redo a couple of steps because the drawings were not concise.4

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
