PITA to put togetherColleenThe light is very pretty, when it's all put together. If the smaller one came in green, I'd be all over it. The main problem I had with this shade was steps 7 & 8. It made NO sense, and I ended up contacting support. The instructions look like you need to pull it down from the top, which would actually make sense, and probably be easier, but you don't. You pull it up from the bottom, and tie the drawstring at the top. I'd also recommend cutting the tags off before you install it. Overall, this is a pain in the butt to put together; it's not "one smooth motion" like cx svc suggested. two pairs of hands might make it easier. In general, I'm glad I got this whole thing, but man, was it a PITA to put together! I highly recommend Ikea corporate reexamine their instructions on this one! it'd rally just be a matter of flipping one drawing from seemingly to draw the fabric DOWN to drawing it UP.3

Initially hesitant to purchase this lamp shade due to the mixed reviews, but so glad that I did. Heads up it's compatible with the havsris cord set if you want to just hang it from a ceiling hook! What a cute & cozy addition to the home :)

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
