Don’t waste your moneyKianaBought two as a DIY project to stain and fancy them up as nightstands. They both broke within a couple months - one was the railing, the other was the drawer face falling out of the sides. They just don’t have the durability to keep clothes in/for everyday use. The drawer rails are plastic so that should tell you everything you need to know.1
Terrible Quality, Impossible to AssembleAlexandriaThe holes are barely drilled in, if at all, so you have to fight with the screwdriver to get them into the wood. The holes for the small horizontal pieces aren’t deep enough and the wood splits when you try to force them in. Will be returning.1
Knotty bojHeatherI love the size, but the wood was MUCH more knotty than I would have expected from the product photos. There were at least 20 visible knots on the sides, tops and drawers. Some were pretty large. It took a lot of shellac primer and multiple coats of paint to cover them. The drawers also don't come out far enough with the stops installed.3
Not 100% WoodSuzanneI was disappointed by how much of this PINE dresser is not actual pine wood. Boards are used as drawer bottoms, dresser bottom, and the back. 3/5 as only 3/5 of this is wood.3
dont waste your moneyKevindrawers are too narrow so fall off slides. wood splits. generally a poor quality product, not fit for purpose at any price.1
Drawer not lining up JenWould have been a 5 star but the pre-drilled holes in the one drawer front were upside down so now I can’t get the insert in the drawer. I’m going to have to take a whole day now to go try and get it replaced as the IKEA is over an hour away from me. 3
Great small chest of drawersAngelaIt was easy to assemble, and it is the perfect size5
Solid and AffordableFaithWe purchased two of these to use for a built in shelving system in our daughter’s closet. Thrilled with how they turned out! Easy to assemble and paint.5
DO NOT BUYEricSet up is impossible the holes are way too small for the screws to fit without breaking the wood1
Quality productToniIf there’s something I feel confident about at all times, it’s my purchases at IKEA. This is to be used as a bedside dresser for me as I couldn’t find a proper nightstand. The height is perfect against the height of my bed and as I love the oak look, it fits the decor of my room. I hate putting things together, but it wasn’t hard and I am really satisfied overall.5
PREDRILLED HOLES, MISALIGNED, WRONG SIZEDoreenLike the title says the predrilled holes are incorrectly positioned or drilled too small, which caused wood to split. Ikeas will be truly sorry to hear about my disappointment with the product, but we can’t return it as it’s now painted. How about a partial refund IKEA? Have a drill ready to redrill the holes.1
Poor qualityMatthewMaterial seems very low quality, during assembly the wood split in multiple spots. Drawers don’t open far, poor quality rails. Returned as this seems unacceptable1
Not durableMaznaNot good quality of screw or wood. One of the pieces came in broken 1
Versatile and compactBrendaI have an older version of this chest (2 handles on each drawer) that has been at the front door, a night table, a tv stand, and now is in my kitchen to store plastic containers. I loved it so much I needed another one to join it in the kitchen 😁 ( it was not available for a long time - glad it’s back. Might need to look to see where I can use more👍) It’s nice and slim so can be placed just about anywhere. Easy to assemble. Can be painted or left as is, as I did. Very versatile for sure.5
Looks decent but smells badTiangeI’ve had it for two years and it still has a strong chemical scent. I put a bunch of activated charcoal odour absorbers in each drawer but the scent is too strong that even 6< of the absorbers cannot fully absorb it.3
Nightmare assembly. Do Not recommend.CherrySide panels did not have pre drilled holes for slides, only very slight dimples. Screws for slides are flat bottomed instead of tapered. Very difficult to keep slides straight. The drilled holes in one drawer knob is not straight. Cannot tighten knob. Screw is sticking out on inside of drawer. A lot of the pre drilled holes are not straight, making it difficult to get screws in to wood. I accidentally put a small dowel into wrong hole and it snapped off when trying to pull it out. Some dowels went in easily; others were very difficult. The wood split on the bottom front bar when trying to put screw in. Again, I believe the hole was not drilled straight. That bar is now resting on just a dowel on that end. A waste of my time and money. Entire dresser is wobbly. Plan to talk to ikea re replacement, but not hopeful. This is not my first Rast dresser and I have not had any difficulty before. Clearly, something has changed. I should have read the reviews before purchasing. 1
Affordable but not worth the poor qualitySharonThe dresser seems like it would be sturdier using wood, however, the screws meant to fasten each cabinet to the main part of the dresser are not long enough to keep it from sliding off so a lot of the time, accessing clothes ends up just being having to readjust the dresser drawers after they have slid off or gotten stuck. It’s an extremely frustrating experience and unfortunate because the product seems like it would be decent. Invest in something else. 1
Assembly is a nightmareHelenaNo predrilled holes for slides on one side panel, and only one hole per slide on the other one - how am I supposed to make them horizontal and aligned?! You need a carpenter's bench for this. Some of the other existing predrilled holes do not match or are not drilled deep enough - a LOT of effort required to screw the screws in completely. 2
Cheap qualityBobbieThinking the pine dressers would be sturdier than the melamine... we chose these... however upon assembly, the locking nuts that ikea is famous for snapped. The pre drilled holes for screws sometimes werent there. And once when tightening one of the locking nut things it spilt the laminated wood panel. We had to clamp and glue it together. Unfortunately this experience has put me off from wanting to spend my money into ikea furniture. 2
Well made and easy to put together.JoyceWell made and easy to pit together 5

IKEA takes the lead to reduce the risk of tipping

At IKEA, we want to create a better everyday life for the many people – and a safer life is a better life. That’s why we constantly work to develop innovative stability solutions.

Furniture tipping over is one of the home furnishing industry's most serious safety issues and we’ll never stop working on innovative stability solutions for our storage furniture. A tip-over accident can happen when you least expect it. It could be someone using a drawer as support to stand up or children climbing to reach something on top. But no one can predict all the scenarios that everyday living at home can create. That’s why the best way to avoid tipping accidents is to always anchor the furniture to the wall. But we also offer new stability solutions that help make our storage furniture safer. One example is our stability feature Anchor and Unlock. "It means that the chest of drawers must be anchored to a wall to be able to open more than one drawer at a time, which reduces the risk of tipping, but doesn’t entirely remove it. By anchoring the chest of drawers to the wall, you unlock the drawers and can open them all at once," says Björn Andreasson from the development team. Another way we increase stability is to integrate it into the design. "With GREÅKER cabinet with drawers, for example, we´ve developed hinges that stop the doors at a 115-degree angle and keep them there to reduce the risk of tipping," says product developer Dagmara Pawlus. IKEA of course meets all safety requirements in our markets, but we don’t just settle for this. We often set higher demands than what legislation requires to help people enjoy a better everyday life – in a safer home.
