Wipe dry with a clean cloth.

Stains can be removed by using an eraser, fine sandpaper, soap, dishwashing detergent or paint thinner.

Can be treated with oil, wax, lacquer or glazing paint for higher resistance and easy care.

For increased stability, re-tighten the screws about two weeks after assembly and when necessary.

A bench with a trunkJcAlways like the solid wood IKEA furniture I can stain and finish. And if you glue them as you assemble them,….you've got a pc. you can pass down to others. Put a little distressed/hammered finish on this one.5
Great bench but difficult to buildBritneyOverall great bench, nice look, very solid and the storage is a nice bonus. But it was very difficult to get the majority of the screws in, maybe the holes were very shallow but definitely have your own tools at the ready. 4
A nightmare to assembleLouiseAlthough the bench looks great once assembled this was quite possibly the worst assembly of an ikea product I have ever seen. The screws are extremely difficult to tighten. I had to end up using a wrench to turn the screws. One piece of advice tap the top of the screw a few times to get it sitting firmly in the hole before trying to screw it in otherwise it just spins and doesn’t get into the hole far enough to “grip “ the wood2
Screws and holes won't line upJacksonThis solid pine bench is practical, sturdy, and stylish. Assembly was mostly fine, but a few screws were hard to put in because the holes didn’t line up well, possibly due to slight twisting in the solid wood. We placed it at the foot of our king-size bed, and it looks great. I’m considering adding a lacquer for extra protection. Overall, it’s a solid piece— IKEA products usually don’t disappoint. I would recommend it.5

Impossible to assembleHaleySuper cute and sturdy once put together with lots of great storage. That said, all but two screws were impossible to screw in properly. My hands are killing me. Please do better IKEA. 3

Something is wrong with the last step in assembling?Essie The assembling seems smooth until I put in the last screw and I was so frustrated that the screw just can’t go in. I tried to unscrew the previous one and hope it will work for this last hole but no way can the screws provided be fitted into the last hole. I believe there is some defect in the last hole. I don’t want to reassemble it and neither to return it back to the store. don’t have the energy to bring it back. Quite upset after spending the time in assembling the product and found out at the end the product cannot be assembled properly. Hope missing the last screw won’t affect the sturdiness of the bench!!!!2

"When designing PERJOHAN stool and bench with storage we wanted to make smart furniture pieces that would serve a purpose even when they’re not being sat on - something clever for small living spaces. We used the space underneath for storage and adapted the design so they could multi-task as side tables. The cut-out handle and light-weight wood make them easy to move around. We hope people will find that these are the must-haves they’ve been lacking in their homes."
