Good to know

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

Can be used on the corner unit only if the shelf next to it has no doors.

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. If it breaks, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

The door makes the BillyJaneThe door makes the Billy Bookcase very versatile! I keep my painting supplies behind closed doors. It’s great because storage is very limited in my apartment. I have 2 Oxberg Billy bookcases side by side in the dining room part of my apartment! Looks great! The only downside was that I had to wait for 5 months for the Billy to be in stock..I could have gotten the doors but they would be useless without the bookcase. Worth waiting for!!5

We two of these OxbergKenWe two of these Oxberg doors to put on an Idanas bookcase. We did have to use a different hinge on the bottom as the Oxberg door hinge lined up with a permanent shelf on the Idanas. But with that slight adaptation, it looks great!5

If you want to jazz up your Billy bookcase add on this easy purchase, looks great and if getting the half glass door add on glass shelves. Won’t regret it.

These were easy to put together and works beautifully! Love that the half glass gives the bookcase a nice look and since my bookcase is dark, it doesn't give off that 'dark' feel in my living room.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
