You can quickly transform this multifunctional table from a slightly higher side table into a lower coffee table to suit all the different activities that take place around the sofa.
The smart design of the side table allows you to slide the table top over your lap and enjoy a proper dinner while watching TV, without risking spills or the underframe getting in the way of your legs.
Stable to eat on and with a table top that has enough room for a plate, glass and cutlery – and the table top is easy to wipe clean when you're done.
You transform the table by removing the table top from the underframe, turning the underframe on its side and then fixing the table top in place again by using the fasteners under the table top.

Genuinely cannot believe this exists the way it does.AranFirst off if it touches water it bubbles up like a rash and it is permanent. I’m not talking sitting water, I’m talking like the condensation from a cold glass. Or a wet rag to clean it.
Secondly the table part is held on by nothing but a single clip, as if you were intended to take it off on a regular basis? It comes off accidentally all the time it’s really annoying.
Worst thing I’ve ever bought at ikea easily. Shame too because it’s a great idea.
Bedside solutions for under-bed drawers!KathleenI got these as bedside tables after reading reviews on several under-bed-storage beds with drawers that said that wall-side drawers were hindered by regular bedside tables. These are perfect; the drawers on my Idanäs open right through them no problem, and the little canvas trays are good for the sorts of things I’d keep in a bed-side drawer. Well … most things.
Good Side TableDanThis is an excellent side table. I just bought a second one of them. I like how it converts to a coffee table. Also great as a TV tray. When assembling, I had to retap one of the screw holes to get the screw in. Also one of the small plastic guides kept popping out. Some glue fixed the problem. Don't let these small problems stop you from buying one of these, they're excellent.
Not durable BrentIkea obviously doesn’t care about customer complaints, as there have been multiple complaints about the durability of the surface of the table, and nothing has been done. They shouldn’t be selling a defective item, and tables should be able to withstand a couple drops of liquid on them.
Perfect for dining on the couchDonnaDon’t have an eat-in kitchen or dining room make it so much better for dining on the couch. Works great for grandkids snacking there too.
Functional but not durable JenniferI received this 3 days ago. Put it together with standard amount of ikea frustration, and it works well.
But today, I’m using it as a side table, and have a glass of wine on it. Two drops land on the surface (yes I know alcohol abuse) I ignore it as I’m on the phone.
After approximately 5-10 mins, I go to wipe the two little drops off…. The finish comes off!!! Like literally two holes are now in the top of my brand new piece of furniture. I get that it’s not exactly expensive, but I do expect it to last more than 3 days. And I can’t even return it as I don’t live near a store and have this shipped (yes I paid more to have it shipped to me, just another kick to the teeth)

The table top get easily disfigured by water and general useSourabhThe table top especially of the beige option gets easily disfigured by water droplets and if you use it to keep moderately warm cups or plates. Seems like a quality defect of the material used for the beige top.
Versatile but table too not greatAnne-MarieThe finish of the table top is unfortunately very cheap and left water rings when I forgot to use a coaster. Everything will stain this table it just soaks right in. I really wanted to lime this table but the finish on the top is way too cheap.
Can’t handle water on the top!MykolaI bought this for my living room and was hoping I could use it for a laptop, journals, books, etc. Last night, I put a glass of water and had a few water drops on it. After a few minutes, I wiped it down and the desk was full of bubbles and seemed quite damaged. I like the desk but the quality is awful, even though I’ve used it for about two or three days.
Very nice in Concept, Some hiccups in executionEthranThe table itself functionally is great; I love the ability to switch out the form factor and orientation of the table to fit a certain need. The tabletop itself poses alot of issues unfortunately.
3 of the 4 clip spots had loose plastic bolts imbedded underneath the table so the screws are stuck but not fastened so tightening them is impossible. The clips are all loose and are unable to be tightened.
As other have stated, the table top is so sensitive to condensation and any liquids. It stains and bubbles up extremely easily. I already have water marks that have stained the table light blue and some mug rings on the table itself.
Overall I'd give this a five stars if only the tabletop itself wasn't such a hassle.
Not too greatJonThe height and design seem to work well, but the screws to hold the clips for the table do not go in all of the way, so it's incredibly unstable and slides around. The table also seems to get damaged extremely easily. Will be returning this one unfortunately
Handy little tableLorimerThis table is exactly what I needed for my small suite, easy to use in either coffee table or laptop mode, and tucks nicely aside when I don't need it. Solid construction, easy to put together, looks nice.
Worst design flaws ever AmelieI wanted to love this table soooo much. It’s too short, wobbles badly and is very poorly designed. Sadly I’m getting rid of it.

Poor DesignSolalehI’m really disappointed with this table. The lip of the part that’s screwed underneath the top is very small and flexible, so whenever I try to lift or move the table by holding the top, the whole top comes off. I’m going to return it.
The underrated laptop tableShahnewazIf you're sitting on a couch or the edge of your bed, this makes a perfectly sized laptop table (and at a good height too). Place your power bar/charger in the fabric pouch and you're all set! Tip: if you have difficulty switching from vertical to horizontal mode, gently squeeze inwards the clips on the underside of the table surface.
