Lightweight, nut sturdy.JaneI love this line of dishware. Not only is it priced right, but it is very lightweight and yet chip resistant. My only complaint is that I would prefer the small sandwich plates to be a little larger which would make them much more useful. I have the cereal sized bowls and the larger shallow bowls for individual servings of soup and spaghetti and I use all of them almost everyday. They are like corelle, but solid white instead of having patterns on them. I much prefer this simple, plain, functional dinnerware.

As I thoroughly enjoy hand washing my dishes, I cannot comment on its dishwasher durability.
