Great accent lampSamI was replacing all the floor lamps and shades in my living room. I bought two more plain ones and then this one as an accent for the corner further from the tv so the light coming through the shade wouldn’t reflect on the TV. It looks fantastic and creates a really nice ambiance. But you’d want to be careful about placement if it’s in a room with a tv. I hadn’t bought an ikea lamp or shade in 13 years so I wasn’t expecting to have to assemble the shade but for this particular shade it is a very stiff sturdy material so it works well with this type of shade and rounds well around the shade. The inside is gold so the light coming out of the shade does appear quite yellow. This works great in my space but won’t in every space. 5

Total miss..JasonThe shades would have been amazing but the frame doesn’t fit regular lamps, so I guess unless you buy lamps there you can’t use these with any other lamps from Canada. Ended going somewhere else for shades.1

Material

What is polyester?

Polyester is a durable, quick-drying and insulating material that is optimal to use for textiles and as filling in pillows, quilts and furniture. The material is made from crude oil – a limited resource. Since IKEA doesn’t want to contribute to more virgin oil being used, we are now gradually switching to recycled and traceable polyester from sources like PET bottles. What’s nice is that polyester can be recycled over and over, without changing or losing its great qualities.
