I’m very disappointed with this chopping board. The oak wood is extremely rough and feels unfinished, which makes it unpleasant to use and not at all what I expected from IKEA at this price point. For a wooden cutting board, I expected a much smoother, properly finished surface. Unfortunately, the quality does not justify the price.
not what we expectedDebbyWe ordered this to go on our new sink. It finally got installed about 6 months after we purchased it. The cutting board was about a week after. It does not fit., it just looks awkward , so we dont use it. No receipts kept, last years stock now, and just too large for the basin.

Well maintained, but bent in a few weeksEliasThis is the nicest wood board I bought. I wanted to take good care of it, oiled it 2-3 times with olive oile before using. I used it 1-2 times a week. stored flat, Always dried with a towel when cleaning. After 2-3 months it bent in the middle and doesn't lay flat anymore. Pretty fning dissapointing :/
Wood has many issues.LucasBased on reading other reviews and the issues identified, my issues are also the same.
This board has many finishing steps skipped. The wood fibers pop out on the first touch with water, creating a rough top. I have also seen wood breaks on the board.
The board dimension is perfect and sits well on the sink. I'll be returning this product.
Solid wide board but has small splinter issuesJimmyThe board is strong and fits wider sinks perfectly, can be used for very long time judging from the quality. It has a relatively strong recycled wood smell that will come out with a couple of washings.
However the biggest gripe I have is that the board on initial use needs to be scrubbed down with coarse washing cloth or sponge because of the small splinters that will come up after being soaked with water the first time. The splinters will come off on use so they must be scrubbed off.
Other than that it is a solid affordable board that is perfect for large food items.

My board was prepared according to directions & it has started to crack...not sure if it's defective or what! I would exchange for another as I like the look & needed a sturdy board for my new cleaver.
Not the greatestAnonymous reviewerI’m not sure if I got a dud or if this product is always the way I purchase it, but it is very rough and one side has a knot in the wood, we are bacteria will definitely catch. It is going back the next time I’m in IKEA (90 minutes away). Probably best to spend a little more money, at another store. With that being said it’s a nice size and would otherwise be good.
