Cute lamp but shuts off soon ShreyaGot this lamp last week with Ladda batteries. Lasted for a week every evening. However now I’m noticing it shutting off within seconds. Very annoying, as I didn’t expect batteries to only last for such short time.

Cute portable light!StephanieI love the colors and the light level for this it works wonderfully. My only issue is the gold part will not lock into the base no matter how much pressure i use to connect it. Works fine otherwise I just have to be careful how i carry it.
Very frustrating HanaThe lamp is very cute but after assembling using the instructions and the ikea rechargeable batteries it doesn’t turn on. Even after fully charging still didn’t work. Also not able to completely disassemble to see if anything wrong/ disconnected. Looks cute but not functional and extremely frustrating to deal with
Peak design and functionality FrancoisThis is a piece that will stay in the IKEA hall of fame for the years to come. Cheap but well made with a modern design. Light level creates a nice ambiance and it being cordless lets you take it outside for these late night diners. I’ll buy another! Don’t forget to grab the rechargeable batteries, they are cheap. Use one of your USB-C cable you already have at home. Good job IKEA for this one!
Love this quirky lamp, but…KirstenI think this lamp is absolutely lovely. It’s so unique and the colours are great! It was also easy to put together. There are a few important things to know first though: I bought this lamp and then got it home to realize it requires the LADDA rechargeable batteries, which I forgot to buy. That was my own fault. So I went back to buy the batteries and they are out of stock. Normally, that wouldn’t be a huge deal but it is 4 months later and I still cannot get the batteries for it. It will only work with the LADDA batteries, and not with a USB-C cable alone. There doesn’t appear to be a date when they will be available again and I really don’t want to return the lamp. Make sure to read the packaging really well because I believe it should come with the batteries, and you will need a charging cable.
So I love it, it’s unique but doesn’t function as a lamp (yet). I’m really excited for when it does, but I don’t know how much longer that will be.

The only downside is the hard click assembly and the knobs on the side of the lamp don't really hold much friction on the translucent dome. Otherwise, a perfect mood setter in most home environments

contradicting instructionsAnonymous reviewerThe first and second assembly steps look like you should snap together the parts before inserting the rod, but the third step shows to insert the rod before snapping the parts together. There's a Reddit thread with over 20 people who made this irreversible mistake!
Doesn't hold its charge very longStephanieThis lamp is a bit odd in that it requires batteries AND charging. I didn't anticipate that it would need both. What's more, it takes a long time to charge and the charge really doesn't last long - less than a week with regular use for a few hours in the evenings.
I will admit though that it is very cute lit up, and the pink "shade" provides a very sweet glow.

I’m so sad, I bought a second lamp and it’s doing the same thing. I am using brand new Ikea AA batteries, and didn’t have any issues with assembly.

Good and badBeayueNice colours, and pink shade gives a nice glow. Also like the ability to charge the batteries directly from the lamp, and also be able to swap out the batteries. Need to be careful during assembly, as the snaps to attach the bulb (and the shade bar) are very tight, and likely irreversible without damaging the lamp, so if you do this in the wrong order, it can't be fixed. The battery compartment is very badly designed though, as the batteries are loaded vertically, instead of inset and stacked. This means that the springs on the battery constantly push against the door, which is only held by a plastic tab and one screw. This results in the battery door bulging slightly, so the base is no longer completely flat. Also places constant pressure on the screw and the plastic tab (higher risk of breakage with wear), which is a very apparent defect. This could have easily been fixed with a stacked battery compartment. Unsure why Ikea choose this route, unless it was for short product lifespan.
