“We designed a frame that looks like a square with small legs,” explains Anders. It’s a shape that’s used throughout the series, from chairs to tables. “The frame gives NÄMMARÖ a uniform and contemporary look. It’s also modular thinking that simplifies the production and lowers the cost. And since NÄMMARÖ doesn’t have any curved shapes, the products are easy to pack in flat packages.” It contributes to a lower price and saves valuable space during transport – all the way from the factory to the customer’s home.

Care
The best way to extend the life of your wooden outdoor furniture is by cleaning it regularly and not leaving it outdoors unprotected more than necessary.
Clean: Use a mild soapy solution. Wipe dry with a clean dry cloth.
Maintenance: To prevent the surface from drying out and cracking, and moisture from penetrating into the wood, we recommend you to re-stain the furniture on a regular basis, for example once or twice a year.
Storing: If possible, store in a cool dry place indoors. If the furniture is stored outside, cover it with a waterproof cover. After a rain or snowfall, wipe off excess water or snow from flat surfaces. Allow air to circulate to avoid condensation.
To increase the stability of your furniture, re-tighten the screws at least once per season.

Lovely wooden outdoor furniture -- with a little extra care.KimberlyWe bought this to use as a small table or footstool (with a cushion on top) on our south-facing deck. It's a lovely, simple design, at a good price, and it was easy to assemble. But the out-of-the-box stain was not intended to resist water or UV damage for long, and IKEA suggests keeping it covered when not in use.
We decided to apply a high quality water-based topcoat, in a satin sheen, to seal and protect the original IKEA wood stain, before we assembled the table. It was quick and easy to do, and it means we won't have to worry about covering the table whenever it is not in use. As with all our outdoor furniture, we will bring it in for the winter. So with a little extra care, this little table will last, and look great, for years to come.
