Great value and function, but would like firmer mount.MichaelThis is an elegant shelf and fits the room well but it would greatly benefit from a 2 piece bracket for installation (or even better, 2 of them).
When installed horizontally, it uses 3 brackets with 3 screw per bracket holding it to the wall. Vertically it only uses 1 bracket with 2 screws. The unit isn't wide enough to hit 2 studs so at best you have 1 stud and a drywall anchor then a tall shelf that hangs from those 2 screws at one end, leaning against the wall. I installed 2 brackets (second at the bottom) as this seems insufficient.
The brackets themselves are made to be minimally visible. The problem is that they're not made with enough clearance to install with a drill. They're too close to the surface of the top so your bit angle isn't straight to the screw leading to cam out with Phillips or Posidrive or having to angle drive in Robertson or Torx screws.
A 2 piece bracket (mount the bracket, then hang) would correct this and be a great improvement for the ease of installation.
