Easy installation, great light overall very modernStevenVery easy installation, read some reviews and was worry about the difficulty in installation, but turns out to be very easy. After mounting the whole plate onto the ceiling. The connected bolt can be unscrew all the way to the bottom so the hooking part is easy. Light looks great and bright in the living room.
Worst design in history of global lightingToddThis light is by far, and I mean by miles and miles, the single worst light I have ever installed in my entire life. There is a fundamental flaw in the design I think they were trying to solve with the hinged mounting plate, that makes it nearly impossible to install on a ceiling. The hook to hang the light on is far too short to support the light and leaves you with zero threads to tighten the fixture down. This light needs to be removed from all global markets and an immediate recall notice sent out with the designer stripped of their license to design ever again in their life.
On a brighter note: the light is actually one of the nicest looking lights ikea has put out in a while.
Need an adapter from a hardware storeNoelleBy design, there’s a flaw such that you can’t install the light without buying an adapter from a separate hardware store.
The hook to mount the lamp is too short so when you try to lock the top cover in place, you can’t access the threads.
I had to purchase a 1/2” deep junction box extension ring to install the light.
Once you get it installed, it looks great though!
