I bought this to make Sauerkraut as it was a good priceJamesI bought this Korken jar to make Sauerkraut as it was a good price , however, the label on the outside does not peel off nicely & its meant to come off. Lots of yucky glue I cannot get off no matter what I've tried & I tried several well known methods . I like the jar itself & the seal but come IKEA dont use so much glue on labels ...that's crazy. Maybe something can be done to make this product better, thanks.5

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
