The airtight seal helps food retain its flavor and aroma longer.

Too Hard to Open and Close – Not Practical for Daily UseAniI use them very rarely. They are very airtight, but opening and closing them is difficult and unpleasant — it actually hurts your fingers. That’s why I avoid using them. It only makes sense to buy these if you need to store something airtight and access it very rarely.2

KORKEN jars are ideal for preserving jams, pickles or other homemade treats. The aroma-tight seal helps to lock in flavor and since the jars are made of glass, you can easily see what’s inside, increasing the chance that food gets eaten and not thrown away.

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
