Ratings and reviews
Disappointed with KIVIK Sofa – Poor Quality Over TimeSandraI bought the KIVIK sofa from IKEA a year ago, and I’m really disappointed with how it’s held up. At first, it looked nice and felt comfortable, but that didn’t last long. The seat cushions have gone completely flat, the back support is almost gone, and the fabric started to show signs of wear within the first year.
Now, it looks worn out and feels uncomfortable to sit on. For the price, I expected much better durability and comfort. I usually like IKEA products, but the KIVIK has been a big letdown. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for something that lasts.
Disappointed in the New KIVIK Couch – Not the Same AnymoreAvrilI’ve always loved IKEA’s KIVIK line — it used to be known for being incredibly comfortable, deep-seated, and durable for the price. I was so looking forward to getting another one and had been saving up and planning for months. But unfortunately, the new version is not the same.
. The cushions are noticeably firmer and feel less plush, and the seat depth — one of the things I used to love most — seems shallower. No longer the perfect lounging or family movie-night couch.
The fabric choices also feel thinner and less substantial.. It feels more budget than it used to, which is disappointing, especially since the price hasn’t gone down (if anything, it’s gone up). I understand companies update designs, but in this case, it feels like a downgrade.
I’m genuinely so disappointed. I really wanted to love it again, but sadly, it just doesn’t live up to what it used to be. If you loved the old KIVIK, try before you buy — the changes might be a dealbreaker.
