Trash False AdvertisingBexJust like the title says. This product is trash. I’ve also tried two different style paints on this piece according to what works best with pine and neither work. The colour just soaks into the pine no matter how many coats you put, you see the pine underneath and what is clearly beige paint it somehow comes out looking grey on the pine. At this point I’ve wasted so much time and paint on this product I just want to chuck it in the trash. Sadly I have to put one star as I can’t put zero.1

The cabinet is solid, andJenaThe cabinet is solid, and all the pieces were in excellent shape. The only issue we had with it was we were planning on using two of the IVAR cabinets as a storage unit for under our wall mounted TV. But once we put together the first unit we received the top edges were not as flush as we would have liked, also there is about a 1 inch gap between the cabinet doors3
Nice CaninetPennySolid, we sanded, stained and added legs to it,.liked it so much we came back and bought another. I struggled a little.hanging the doors straight but with a little time I managed.5
Great pieceAlyssaGreat piece5
Returned it.StephanyThe gap between the doors, even after maximum adjustment, didn’t look right. I returned the two units I bought.1
Perfect storage for pantry. Easily built/installedAnonymousWe bought this to update a laundry pantry room. They look great on the wall and hold A lot more than expected.5
Doors don’t futAnonymousI bought this from the store in Edmonton Alberta, we had put together and the doors are about 2 inches short on width, can’t tale back would cost more to drive back will not recommend this Love the look but would look better with doors that fit2
So far so goodLindsayBought 2 of these cabinets to act as extra storage and counter space for my small kitchen (ikea hack). Painted them sage green and they took the paint wonderfully although I would suggest sanding first. The back panel is incredibly wobbly which I will probably caulk later. I googled how to close the space between the cabinets (thank you reddit users) and it’s perfect. Can’t wait to get some legs for it and a countertop and put it to use.4
This cabinet has flawsAnonymousI have assembled many Ikea pieces over the years and haven't had trouble like I did with this one. I like this cabinet. For the price it's decent, however, Ikea really needs to look at the design of the doors and hinges. No matter what adjustments I tried I could not get the gap between the doors to anything less than 1/2 without causing the doors to loosen to the point of falling off. I have resorted to using shims on the inside hinge in order to close the gap. Luckily I have the tools and know-how to do this. The gap is unacceptable and I feel this is a design flaw on Ikea's part. I gave 1 star for ease of assembly/installation because of the hinges/doors.2
Finding storageStephanieIt is a super easy to assemble cabinet easy to customize. However you can adjust the doors all you want. They will not come all the way together. So if that’s a deal breaker then don’t get them. But they’re a very cost effective cabinet4
simple cabinetFranthis cabinet goes together pretty easily. It's hard to see, but there is a small gap between the doors, which I don't care about. Getting the shelves in once you've installed the doors is very hard without damaging things. Either loosen the hinges, or install shelves before you tighten everything. Otherwise, it's a snug, solid little cabinet.3
small pine cabinet with tricky hardwareAnonymousI was hoping to game the IKEA quality-price system by selecting a pine cabinet for my office storage, and whitewashing it; but Ivar has some utility and quality deficits. 1) Be assured that the back of this small 3'x3' utility cabinet is a thin, folded sheet, not wood. 2) Screwing in the hardware leaves a big gap in the middle between the two doors. You need to fidget with it, and the screws are more difficult to screw in, in order to lessen the gap down to 1/4, the minimum gap between the doors. 3) To open the doors, the cabinet needs to be off the ground as it has no base; but it also has no legs, or leg-attachment hardware, so it is meant to be hung on a drywall. It's not ideal for friable plaster walls. 4) Although this cabinet is depicted with magazine holders in adverts, the doors have interior braces, making the cabinet, at 24 usable cm deep, a bit too shallow for storing work documents.2
Gap in IVAR Cabinet doorsLoriWas disappointed that the cabinet doors have a gap. At first I thought it was a defect but it was the same for all 3 cabinets purchased.3
Guess you get what you pay for :(AnonymousI recently bought three of these cupboards. I was happy with the price... until I assembled them. I received one good cupboard out of three. One of them has a cracked door, and another, the dowels were too long, so even with a rubber mallet, they popped through. I basically paid for three and got one. The pro's are the quick delivery and price. However, the cupboards were dropped on my front step for all to see, and I was not notified. I don't know how long they sat there, but FedEx didn't even ring the doorbell. Sad that one good cupboard cost me almost $500.00.2
AnonymousToo many options, not enough info when purchased, needed small dowels and another shelf....you can add on to the shelving uni; make all shelf’s or add on a cabinet which could go on top or bottom of unit. Not like the unit on display, found this more difficult then putting the sofa together. Still fun..2
