These lamps can be both general lights and reading lights and can be switched on and off separately.
The uplighter spreads a pleasant light that illuminates the entire room.
You can easily direct the light of the reading lamp where you want it since both the arm and the head are adjustable.
You never have to change a light bulb as this lamp has LED light sources built right into it.
Using LED as a light source means that it not only lasts 20 times longer than an incandescent bulb, but consumes up to 85% less energy.
By dimming the lighting, you change the mood in the room.

Bulbs burnt out and can't be replacedCrystalDespite having this lamp less than 3 months, the lower bulb burnt out or stopped working. The bulbs are not replaceable. Big let down, would not buy again.
WobbleOliviaWhy do all IKEA lamps have the same faulty issue? To be fair, I own this one and another, but it's so frustrating, they are both floor lamps. You have to find a way to stuff the extra wire properly in the bottom of the lamp, and it never ever fits right. At least this design doesn't have the floor button that breaks after one use.
Not long lastingKentNice looking lamp, but, as other have noted, it seems to have longevity problems. After about 8 months the unit started flashing randomly, and this behaviour has continued. There is no way to change the bulbs, and the warranty period has - of course - passed. This product is a failure, both functionally and environmentally.
Disappointed LucilleAt first I loved this new lamp but after 2.5 years the top light has died and as mentioned by other reviewers, there is no replacement or anything helpful Ikea can do for me.
I expected more from a company boasting sustainability. Not sure I will buy another lamp from them again.
Stopped functioning in less than 2 yearsJiajingThe lamp is a great peace but the upper dimmable light starts to flashing like crazy in less than 2 years. Now it's not usable and IKEA can't offer any help. The bulb can't even be replaced. WASTE
Beautiful!Beverly I read the reviews but I found the lamp base to be quite stable and the uplight quite "illuminating". (see what I did there?) As to the environmental factor, I'm sure there will be a fix by the time the 25,000 hours / 20 years are up. Very stylish, and sleek looking. I love it!

Lightning is goodPriscillaIt illuminates very well. However, I'm not sure if it's my floor or the base of the lamp but it tilts a little. I had to improvise an extra support for the base for it to be straight. Even so, the reading light is great and easy to redirect. As for the main light, I love that it was intensity control.
Great, stylish lamp but HORRIBLE for the environmentJohnathanFor starters, this lamp looks amazing, it really does. However sadly in a few year's time these are likely to die and be destined for the landfill. Ikea rates the bulbs at 25,000 hours, but at full strength, used for 5-6 hours a day it's not going to last you more than a couple of years.. if something doesn't short before the bulb actually dies. Not having a replacement LED module (or even entire top piece) is extremely negligent towards the environment on Ikea's part. This will absolutely not last 20+ years and I hate the fact that I have a lamp that literally dies every time I turn it on. I already had 1 die but fortunately was within my return period.
This is basically the fast fashion of furniture accessories. Ikea, do better.

Nice lamp but faulty.SandeepThe lamp looks very nice. Very pleasant and bright light. It lit up half of the room! As other reviews have noted, the base isn't wide enough for the lamp to be stable. Could live with that but the dimmable switch/upper light developed a fault within two weeks and the light would flicker before becoming stable. Sometimes, needed to press the dimmable switch to stop the flickering. Had to return the lamp. If Ikea fixes the quality issue, would buy it again.
Top lamp will stop workingHelenaAs many other reviews indicated the top lamp stops working and it is not possible to replace it. I bought the lamp in March 2022, so it definitely does not last the 25,000 hours it indicates in the product review.
Love this modern lampDorothySo surprised how well this lamp works for us. I was thinking of getting 2 of them however started with the one and no need for another the ambiance light from the top is perfect for living room corner beside sofa. No need to purchase a second one for sure. Love it.
Tried Twice - FailedEmmawe had bought this lamp and within a few months the top main light faulted. We returned and exchanged for a new one. Again the same thing happened. We still have the lamp as the mini reader lamp still works however it does not light up enough to cover the living room like what we wanted out of with the top light.
For the price I would expect better. And clearly it’s an issue with the product quality control and not a one-off since we got an exchange for a new one with the same issue.
