Dangerous!SheilahI love the fact that these don’t use plastic. Good idea, but poor execution. Unfortunately they are not tempered glass. I have had them chip in the dishwasher, shatter in the microwave, and have cut myself badly on a shard of glass. I frankly want to return the rest. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lawsuit about these… the lip design is poor since it is a sharp corner what will cause stress cracks. Please, IKEA, redesign these with stronger glass. It would be worth the extra cost.

IKEA 365+RubyI threw out all my plastic tupperware and now only have IKEA 365+. One bowl was chipped when someone washed them and stacked them. I do not stack my bowls but rather store each item with it's lid on it. When you can actually see what is in the refridgerator you don't waste food anymore because you can see exactly what you have. I also use this for storing food in the freezer with zero freezer burn. Love this product. Please do not ever discontinue.

You cant do much for some brands but 2 of the lids were these IKEA ones so I came in and got this shorter glass one & the slightly taller one (you can stack the tall one on top of the short one but you cant stack them the other way around, funny.). I keep staining plastic ones so I got these glass and im very glad I did. feels super sturdy and easier to clean. and cheap! im glad I got these.

If you want to reduce food waste but sometimes think it’s a bit of a pain to take care of your food, this might help. IKEA 365+ food storage products make it easier to store, save and bring food with you on the go. To get to know more about peoples’ needs, we visited families in several countries. We found out that it’s all about versatility and simplicity.
You've just put leftovers after eating into a food container, but can't find a lid that fits. Or maybe you've put a food container in the fridge with food in it, but you can't see what's inside the food container and completely forget about the food. These were things we heard time and time again when interviewing families about their experiences. “We wanted to develop products to make this easier,” says David Granath, a product developer who has worked with the project. “They should be simple and flexible. And easy to combine and use in ways that suit every household.”
No extra work
Smart and super simple
The IKEA 365+ food containers and lids can be combined and also come in different materials and sizes. They are super simple – and that's the point. “We've put a lot of work into them, for example by seeing to it that all the different parts fit together. But the product itself is simple in a smart way.” We can't solve the entire food waste problem – but we can make it possible for everyone to be part of the solution.
Material
What is glass?
Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
