The knife is very durable, balanced, and easy to clean, since it is made of a single piece of stainless steel.

Made of molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel, which is why the knife stays sharp for a very long time.

Grooves on the handle give a firm, secure grip, and keep the knife from sliding in your hand.

Ratings and reviews

Bought as a giftGaylaFor Mother’s Day. My mom needed a new chopping knife and this set was cost effective and got good reviews from my coworkers. When we finally got them open (because Fort Knox is easier to open) we tried them out and they were great!!5
Better than mostScottThese are better knives than most consumer level knife sets that cost far more, including the well known brand names. I did a lot of research before purchasing these. The average person will not be able to tell the difference between these and an expensive professional chef knives, and will likely not know how to sharpen and care for the professional knives to make the expense worth it. The only complaint I have is that the 365+ Chinese Chopper of this series is not available in North America for some reason.5

Price is very good, but buy a sharpener tooRandy Y.As a set of general purpose kitchen knives this is a worth the money. You probably won't find much better at this price. The 3 knives will adequately cover most kitchen cutting chores from meats to vegetable to paring fruits and whatever. The chefs knife may be a bit too light and the blade is thin, so if you do intend to cut up larger meats will likely need a heavier knife or a cleaver. On the downside of all this, the steel on all three knives does not keep a sharp edge. I use the chef and the vegetable knife (the long and middle size ones) daily for dinner preparation, I have found I need to use the Briljera sharpener prior to each use, and I use the Skarande sharpening stones every week or two depending on the edge lost. But for the price I am very satisfied with the knife set.4
Cheap with some positives!Saurabh B.The good part first: 1. Aesthetically pleasing and looks amazing on my magnetic strip. 2. Since it's cheap might be worth if you want to get familiar with such knives before buying more expensive buy for life type knives. 3. I found the weight was comfortable especially for someone who has tennis elbow or small hands. Not so good: 1. Blunt out of the box. I didn't realize this until I used a good sharp knife. 2. Had to buy a whetstone to sharpen the knives but I am still craving for better sharpness. 3. Misleading description. In the main description it says the knives hold sharpness for a VERY LONG time. However if you read through the details by clicking the material and care pdf, it says we need to sharpen them ONCE A WEEK to maintain the sharpness when using for ordinary home use. Really is that a very long period?3

Great knives for the price, does need sharpeningRandy Y.I am using the knives daily, mainly the 2 larger ones, and I have found I need to sharpen frequently. I have the steel rod and also the 3 stone unit, and I am steeling the knives on maybe every other use, and find do need at least the middle and fine stone on the 3 stone sharpener every few weeks. The steel on the knives are not sure hardened, and have since I am only using on meats (no bones) and vegetables, and the chopping blocks I have is nylon, I'm not sure why it's not holding the sharpness longer. But for the price, can't beat the set, and if you get the sharpening tools I am expecting to keep this set for a long time.5
Sleek + sharpCYRENaThese knives work well and look great on Ikea's magnetic strip.5
So far so goodNatashaThese products are solid and may punch slightly above their weight. These are nice and lightweight. Considering price they are as expected, noticed some minor flaws on the blade edge. It’ll be interesting to see how they stand up over time and sharpening.5
Cuts like a knife!LisaLike the all body construction. Handle is grippy. Sharp AF! Rea ally sharp! Great.5

What is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is found in everything from building structures and cars to sinks and knives. It’s easy to see why it has so many uses. Stainless steel is hard and durable and has good resistance to corrosion – namely rust. It generally has a low nickel content, and for IKEA products we mainly use stainless steel that’s nickel-free. Like many other metals, it can be recycled again and again to become new, hardwearing things – without losing its valuable properties.
