Collapsed under the weight of booksCatherineUpon opening the box IKEA delivered, we found a gash in the top front molding, but as we live far from the store, we just accepted it. After assembly, we used this as a bookshelf. About a year later the underframe began to collapse alarmingly at the back corner. It was literally becoming compressed and squished under the weight of the books. To be clear, we did not have an abnormally heavy load of books in the bookcase. Anyway, we had to unload the unit entirely because it obviously was unsafe. We will be putting it out with the trash. The materials are too soft and flimsy for a unit of this size. Strongly recommend against buying this.
5 starsJennifrI have always been a fan of the Hemnes bookshelves, but the quality isn't what it used to be so we decided to buy these instead. They seem sturdy. They were fairly easy to put together. They look lovely.
