Install it correctly and it is an excellent rodSusanThis is a very sturdy rod if you install it correctly. First. put the bigger end cap on the bigger end of rod. Leave the other end bare. Twist to unlock and extend. Place rod with end cap pressing against one wall. Extend rod to have the bare end touching the other wall. Rod is extended to the length with cap pressed against one wall and bare end touching the other wall. Remove rod carefully, twist to lock it really tight but don’t alter the length. Place other cap on bare end of rod. It is spring loaded. Push the spring in and fit the rod in place. It will stay snugly and handle the loads.
I have hung wet life jacket, paddling gear. It has held up well. I did have trouble untwisting it the first time, it was very stuck and I didn't want to risk injury on my wrist. Solution came from Youtube, just tap the rod a few times on a hard surface (like trying to open a jar of pickles). I was then able to twist and extend. It’s a good rod. Don’t give up on it.
Easy to install - elegantLucThe tension rod was easy to install thanks to the instructions. It is quite sturdy. I use it to hang a load of wet clothes and it's holding up so far.

shower curtain rodCynthiaThe rod keeps falling down and I cannot return it as I do not have a receipt and I threw out the original packaging. Very disappointing :(
Fine for the priceMikaelaFalls down a lot, would not buy again
Too much troublrStellaThis rod doesn't have the tension needed to stay up. When I first put it up feels ok but after a day or two it all comes down. The stainless steel finish looks nice but it just doesn't stay up
Quality is badRizzaWe were installing it in the wall and suddenly one of the end part broke even before using it so for me quality is not that great.

Works as intended, and nice clean lookStanleyWorks as intended - extend, tighten and locks in place with the rubber bases. Not sure why many people have trouble using this simple shower rod. Will probably caulk/glue the bases once I have decided on an ideal height. It extends longer than most standard shower rods so it fits my old jacuzzi tub width.

This extends onlyJoyceI was looking for extendable tension rods this may need to fixed on both ends.
Shower curtain rodAnastasiaSadly I threw out the box so I cannot return this product. It does NOT have a spring in it so it is VERY difficult to keep it on the wall. Very disappointing

Beautiful look and design butAlexBeautiful look and design but weak. I wish it was made from a bit thicker pipe.
Love it!SarahThis tension rod is super sturdy and looks great in my shower. It looks more expensive and it's better quality than a white rod so I love how it looks. Definitely a good buy!!
