Poorly designedNathan E.Same as all the other reviews, the metal cone does not hold flush against the ceiling and sags down. Lights also don't hang straight. Would strongly recommend against.1
Bulb recommended is no goodSaukThe bulb recommended on the package is too large to fit into the opening in the top of the shade.4
Nice look, but horrible product conception.PPLambI'm a great Ikea fan. Great products and great designs. That's why I don't understand how that product has made it all the way to the consumer. You wonder who approved that product to begin with. It's the weakest item they are selling. The base that needs to stand firmly to the ceiling does not hold in place, and therefore slides down. Not mechanism to lock it, like most other ceiling products they sale. It's utter nonsense that Ikea would still have that product on the floor, even after all the comments and complaints. Unfortunately, I lost my receipt after buying 3 of these lamps. Shame on me. But shame on you if you buy it and read all these reviews.1
Don"t buy itpaulowniaSame as other reviews. The silver cone did not stay up. The staff in the lighting department1
FrictionpabcSame as other reviews. Cone doesn't stay flush to roof. Slides ALL the way down to the lamp. I'll have to glue it to the roof or replace it.1
Pendant lampScentsystarThe silver cone cover that slides around the electrical part of the fixture kept slipping down the base, so I had to buy a new pendant lamp. Sadly this one is in a box in my garage. Look great hung though.2
GrumpyThe one I bought was not made properly. The metal piece that is supposed to be flush with the ceiling did not stay up as the directions indicated. I returned this product and did not purchase another one.1

Material

What is glass?

Glass is mainly made of sand, soda and lime melted at a high temperature. Tempering or various additives gives you extra-strong and impact-resistant glass that in some cases can be taken straight from freezer to oven without cracking. A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.
