Product details

1 door with 4 different expressions. Choose to use HÖGBO as a glass door, with the included white or black panel, or place photos, fabric or wallpaper between the glass and the panel for a personal look.

Adding a door to BILLY bookcase gives it both a new expression and new functions such as hiding and protecting what you store.

Adjustable hinges allow you to adjust the door horizontally and vertically.

Good to know

A white/black panel to be attached behind the glass is included.

1 door will fit BILLY bookcase 15¾" and 2 doors will fit BILLY bookcase 31½".

The door does not fit bookcases purchased in the spring of 2014 or earlier.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger and more resistant to breaking than regular glass. If it breaks, it shatters into many granular pieces to reduce the risk of injury.

Hegbo door frustrationElizabethI wanted to love this door. The option to insert my own decorative paper behind the glass was the primary reason for purchasing. It’s impossible! I can’t even remove the black board that came with the door as it’s so tightly installed. Am I missing something? Is there a trick to this? It’s been an aggravating task. I’ve even tried to remove the door from the Billy thinking it would be easier to access, but that’s also proved to be impossible! It’s quite pricey for an ill-made product, and I have found all other ikea products to be easily assembled and so innovative. (Sad face)1

Door is nice, assembly is a choreEdwardAttaching this door to a short Billy bookcase ought to have been a ten minute task. It turned out to be anything but. The critical element is positioning the male hinges so that they mate with the female component that you install on the bookcase itself. As an aid to getting the right placement, IKEA supposedly marks the door's frame with A and B markings where the hinges are to be attached. My frame has an A mark so faint that I had to find it with a magnifying glass. The B mark was completely absent. Assuming the two would be equidistant, I measured carefully but wound up off by an eighth of an inch. After much adjusting accompanied by curses directed at IKEA, I finally got the positioning right. All of this was avoidable if IKEA had marked the door frame as the instructions said. My suggestion is to have IKEA's board of directors compel the firm's CEO to assemble every product before it is approved for sale. 3

Old Billy bookcases with updated look!Anonymous reviewerI have had Billy bookcases for years but recently updated the look with the Högbo glass doors and it makes for a very sleek, modern, clean-looking appearance. We have the insert in (white side, not clear, not black) but like the option for mixing it up. Will also consider laying wallpaper into it in the future to "customize" the look since it would be relatively easy to update!5
no really fit the shelf and opening handle not friendlySherryadjust few times, still not really fit the Billy shelf and it is hard open or close for kids grab the little tiny handle. Not well designed， not pretty3
