Hemnes Small BookcaseVassaI have purchased other Hemnes products and have put them together quite easily. The anchor shelf was off and I had to drill a hole myself inorder to make it level. Disappointed that this was not caught by quality control. If you have a drill you can fix the issue but if you don’t have the tools beware.
Do not buy- bad quality MelanieFor the price I had expected value but this is low quality. The bottom wooden panel has visible long splits on both sides and dosnt fit well. It has a good 2mm gap around the entire perimeter and when you place items on it it shifts! What’s even more disappointing is the fact that the middle shelf did not anchor to the sides and as a result it is wobbly and again a 3mm gap is now exposed around the middle shelf and the back panel edge is exposed and it has zero structural integrity so if I put books placed on that side it pushes out the left side. I believe the middle shelf is defective as the anchor you screw did not make any contact with the screw so therefore it did not lock together and has resulted in a sloppy expensive mess. We took great care in assembling this item but would have preferred a Billy book case at more than half the price!!! I have bought many ikea pieces and this is the first item that is not usable.
Horrible DefectsMarinaConsidering how expensive this book case is I expected a little more. Dollarama can deliver better quality.
Bought two and both of them have defects, wood splitting soo bad in the bottom panel you can tell two different pieces were glued together or it was partially sawed on both end. By the way no damage outside of the box to even tell. There's obvious indentation in the wood like it was pressed and circular staining of sorts. There's odd blue staining on the outside aswell.
Value for money I would not agree, I'm too pregnant and tired to drive this back and get a replacement, so now I have to pray the bottom panel will not completely shatter and the other peices with cracks will hold.
Utterly frustrated and disappointed. Save some time and check all your prices before driving off.
IKEA quality droppedFarvaUnforunatley the quality is very bad. The panels are visibly slanting and screws are of cheap quality which donot hold anything. Worst purchase ever.

Hemnes shelvingAndrewI have bought quite a bit of Hemnes shelving over the years. I buy this shelving as I'm sensitive to the glues in particle board. There's much less of it in the Hemnes line ...some drawers in particular have it. Assembly is easy. Some packages can be quite heavy and large, but so far, all have fit inside my car (a Nissan Altima) by using the opening into the trunk when the back seat is folded down and the passenger seat is also folded back ...fits ...just. S9me of the shelves are a bit loose ...in one case I ended up wedging the back of the shelf to permanently push it forward to stay on the clips. The feet are adjustable so you can align numerous units with each other and to also steady each unit. Used thin door panel plywood screwed across the tops of several units to lock them together.
Very happy with these ...I've bought many ...very little gassing off, which is a main concern.

Good but not over timeNatashaI have an issue with my shelves no longer staying on the pegs as they are too short now. My shelf has maybe warped or something. Longer pegs to support the shelves would be great. Wish I could get some to replace the short pegs that come with the shelving unit.

Hemnes - not worth the moneyBonnieWaited for months to get this thing. Thought it was decent for $199, surprise to me when I got home I paid $249. Bit of a rip off, IKEA. Quality is not great. Make sure you fasten to the wall as its not very stable
