I imagine IKEA will eventually recall all the Havstorp door and drawer fronts.ChristopherI have installed around 58 IKEA kitchens - do a search for The Edge and The Raven at Big White. I love IKEA kitchens... until HAVSTORP. The durability of the green coating is incredibly poor - anything will scratch down to the cardboard like fibreboard.
I just installed two kitchens in my house - Nickebo was first followed by Havstorp. Nickebo was great - durable, scratch resistant etc. Today I spent a hour plus on the phone with IKEA followed by six hours stripping the door, drawer fronts and cover panels. Tomorrow I will drive six hours to IKEA to return the offending items... followed by a six hour return journey.
Truly, I have better things to do with my time - IKEA are good value when the product quality exists... this time not so much. IKEA should be ashamed to sell such garbage.
Incidentally The Raven was built in 2007 and the kitchen cabinet fronts are in perfect condition - I expected this level of quality from this last purchase.

Two years. That’s how long it usually takes us to create a new kitchen door and drawer front. Developing the right colour is a part of that process. Flavia Melesi, who is a product developer, says that the team usually begin by looking at what is happening in the world around them. “It’s not the fast trends that influence the palette on kitchen doors and drawer fronts, but more slow movements. We want to find colours you can live with for a long time – regardless if your home is big, small, modern or traditional.”
